Like someone had taken a piece of her and not given it back. She wasn’t smiling. She hadn’t smiled since the war ended. I knew why. Everyone knew, even if no one said it out loud. She had killed someone for the first time. I hugged myself tighter. Then I felt it, someone watching. I glanced to the side. Beta Grayson stood a short distance away, talking to a warrior. He looked serious, his arms crossed, his posture straight even though one side of his chest was still wrapped in bandages. Then his eyes shifted, and met mine.

“And truly horrible.” “That’s just a facet of it. Once RiverPride was defeated, GrayCrest and its allies hunted down all the surviving members of the allied packs and killed them, children were killed, women were raped and murdered or turned into slaves…nobody who didn’t stand by GrayCrest, didn’t make it alive or otherwise.” “It's barbaric,” I said, feeling sick at the image that popped up in my head. “Yeah, GrayCrest has a lot of shit to its name, no wonder it's hated so much. What we did during the Cold War…let’s just say I am glad I wasn’t present then.” He looked thoroughly repelled, silently watching the fire burning.

About twenty meters away I spot them, or more to the point I spot him. Clayton Blackridge Alpha of the Lobo Sombra pack in his huge gun metal grey wolf. Standing to his right is a brown and grey wolf slightly smaller in height and not as muscular, possibly his Beta. My wolf starts stalking towards them and even though I am protesting she wants him. As I get closer he shifts back then the other wolf turns I realise he is giving us some privacy.

~Hunter’s Point of View~ I was enjoying my nice, quiet day off soaking in my huge tub. It had been a long week and my brothers and I rotated being on active duty and on call. I was aching for my week off. They were few and far between anymore since it seemed like everyday someone else was being a menace, being difficult. My brothers and I were Shadow Warriors, a coalition of various supernatural beings that keep the peace between each other and between our own kind. It’s a damn hard job, but someone has to do it.

The red signifies the prisoner, the black signifies Xylah men and the white signifies our army. I use the other colors like yellow, blue, orange and brown to mark the other pack we were to attack. As I was calculating, I felt an arrow being thrown at me which I dodge, causing it to land on the wall. "Woah," I heard them mumble. When I looked, I found Dante with the arrow and I noticed it was already evening. I have been calculating this for quite a long time now. "See Gemma, even with her focus on it, she could still sense it," he said. I quickly put everything away, before standing up.

Pups chased each other between the stalls while their parents shouted after them. I made my way toward the spectator area. Other Packs had already arrived — clusters of unfamiliar faces, warriors sizing each other up, children darting between the food vendors. Two of Harrison's warriors stepped into my path. "This isn't the place for you." The taller one crossed his arms. His name was Garrett. I'd sparred with him once, back in my first month here. He'd complimented my footwork. "Warriors and honored guests only. Not housewives looking for attention."

I’m not letting you go yet.” He called out to the door, his voice steady but edged with frustration. “Enter.” The warrior stepped in, bowing respectfully, his eyes carefully avoiding us as he held a scroll in his hands. “Alpha, the report from the eastern border. There’s movement near the neutral lands. Liora’s group was spotted again.”

It is such an overwhelming and significant feeling; it's like an outer body experience. I see warriors on the sports field, and over at the sparring ring. To the left of the field is a massive obstacle course. Everyone is dressed in black, divided by colours of blue, grey, yellow and red, and one group in all black. They all have warrior stripes in the same colour on their cheeks. It looks so cool, and never have I wanted some stripes on my cheeks more… My adrenaline is pumping! My hands are trembling and I wish I could participate today… This is my kind of thing! Maybe I was meant to be a warrior more than an Alpha?

Lily: "Fuck..." We heard a growl from Grayson and then another word followed, "Mine..." My eyes widened not just on the feral expression on his face but on the person he was staring at. Grayson was never a violent person, if there was anyone who could get an award for bantering, he would be the first to come to mind, Grayson was a jolly good fellow, he had no bad blood in his system. Even though Grayson was never serious with anything he did, he could still command the warriors well, and with him as the head of the warriors, Zeus had been able to build firm security here at the Pack.
