It was spreading. “He’s coming,” the scout whispered. Black liquid leaked from the corners of his eyes. His voice shook with fear deeper than death. “The one from the red moon.” His shaking hand grabbed my tunic. “The Alpha of the Scourge,” he said. I already knew the name. “He sent a message for the girl,” the scout whispered. “Tell Aria… Kael has found his prize.” His body went limp. The name stayed in the air. Kael. The rogue Alpha.

Another woman frowned, unable to understand this. “I told you guys to go up the path. Go up the path guys. Why can’t you all understand?” Skyler was speechless as his hints were so obvious. He did not expect that Orchid and the others would still struggle to understand. “It’s not the Goddess of War, but we need to think higher? Could it be…” Orchid frowned and soon smiled bitterly. “Could it be the Supreme Warrior?” “That’s right!” Skyler smiled indifferently. “The person who’s looking to hire bodyguards is the Supreme Warrior. The one and only strongest person in our Cathysia army, the Supreme Warrior!”

But Shane’s scent was here, clear as day. Shane spotted the rebels clan out near the edge of the village, looking across the pack. Shane only had two helpers backing him up, and with an attack force of only three, it stood to reason that he would be trying to go straight for the jugular by taking out the alpha. Moments later, Scar located Shane and his goons, creeping along on four legs downwind of the rebels, slowly advancing on to their direction , their tails twitching in impending attack.

I turned to face the menacing faces of Lucas' men, their eyes filled with a twisted sense of power. "Gotcha," one of them sneered, tightening his hold on my arm. I struggled, but their grip was unyielding. They dragged me through the wreckage, towards the heart of darkness itself, Alpha Lucas. As we approached Lucas, his piercing gaze met mine. The Alpha exuded an aura of dominance, his presence commanding and intimidating. I could see the bloodlust in his eyes, the hunger for power that had driven him to destroy my village. "Welcome, little lamb," Lucas growled, his voice sending shivers down my spine.

What of his reputation? “Miss, you will not believe what happened!” Hannah barged into my room again. “Hannah, I have told you to uphold your manners in front of the missus!” Sylvia scolded her but as usual, Hannah did not care. “Yes, but she told me to report to her as soon as possible if anything interesting happens,” Hannah defended and I perked up in interest. “My boyfriend – ahem, the boy I am friends with, he just received information. The Black Wolves pack is nearing its end. The rebels are on the verge of winning! The Alpha King’s troops under Alpha Randal were no help at all!”

Smoke curled high into the sky, thick and black, carrying with it the scent of ash and destruction. The screams of omegas and pups reached my ears, sharp and heart-wrenching. I turned to see the shelter nearby also swallowed by flames, its fragile structure collapsing under the weight of the inferno. Jasmine let out a deep, mournful howl, her voice echoing through me like a knife to the soul. Grief rooted me to the spot, my legs trembling as I watched everything I had ever known burn to the ground. Warriors were falling, their blood staining the earth. The chaos was overwhelming.

The head rogue, seeing his forces decimated, let out a furious howl before turning tail and fleeing into the forest. The battle was over. The clearing was littered with the bodies of fallen wolves, both rogue and Storm Pack. The surviving Storm Pack warriors stood panting, their eyes scanning the clearing for any remaining threats. One of the warriors limped over to Baird, his eyes softening with concern as he saw his fallen comrade. “Step away from him,” the warriors growled. I hesitated, my hands still on Baird’s wounds. “I said step away!” he barked, and I reluctantly moved back.

A man's scream echoed roughly in a flash. Marcus witnessed two werewolves dragging a male soldier. He appears to be a member of the WW Force based on his clothing. The man struggled, even more, when he was forced to kneel in front of Althaia, who was now staring at him emotionlessly. Althaia grinned horrifyingly. "Any final words?" Marcus overheard Althaia ask the poor man. Instead of pleading for his life, the man insulted Althaia's ferocity. "All right, make the most of your petty lives now, because your race will be extinct in this world soon!"
