We Can Be Mended Novels & Stories

“And he doesn’t like problems he can’t fix.” I don’t know what to say to that. So I say nothing. She turns and leaves. Later in the day, my phone buzzes again. Remy. “Eli’s currently stable,” he says. “For now.” “For now?” I repeat. Ugh!

Irene was stunned that Zack had forgotten something so significant. She stared down at the Alpha contemptuously, feeling a surge of injustice for Maggie. "You've forgotten the major incident from the Winter Festival six years ago, just like that? "I'm genuinely curious. Maggie was injured by a silver mine while getting a blood-stopping herb for you. She was out of commission for a month, and you've forgotten? "It took her hand six months to heal before she could get back to her experiments!

"Isn't that great?!" And only Allah had bound them together. Or else, Abdullah and Maryam were two different poles of a magnet that could never attract and only repel. They were like the sea and the river which touched each other's boundary but could never mix into one another. But Allah could make anything and everything happen. In the end, the two broken hearts were mended, teaching each other the lessons they needed to revive and strive.

The stark contrast to our current surroundings was a chilling reminder of the stakes. "But how do we mend the fabric of realities?" I asked, desperation evident in my voice. Selene looked thoughtful. "The Heartstone is powerful, but to repair such a rupture, we'll need artifacts from each of the affected realms." Richard furrowed his brows. "So, we're to jump between realms, facing unknown dangers, all while racing against time?" The guardian nodded. "Precisely. But remember, you won't be alone. Your bond, your love, has shown to be a force to reckon with."

He stepped forward, then wrapped his arms around me from behind and rested his chin on my head. He continued, "Give me one more chance, won't you? I want to marry you with everything I am and everything I have." I leaned back into the warmth of his embrace, listening to his steady heartbeat and feeling the salty sea breeze that drifted through the window. The pain of the past was like a deep scar in my soul. It would never disappear, but it could be soothed by tenderness. My life had descended into hell because of Damien, and now, it seemed, it would find its redemption through him, too.

It was a necessary step in reclaiming our peace and protecting our future. Slowly, Nathaniel's heart began to heal, and the cracks in our relationship began to mend. We leaned on each other, finding solace in our shared pain and the determination to overcome the obstacles that life had thrown our way. It was not easy, and the scars remained, but our love was resilient, and we were committed to rebuilding what was lost.

"You haven't failed. You're going through difficult times, but that does not mean you have lost everything. There's still a chance for rebuilding—just like you did with your own life. Don't let this be the end." Benedict looked up at her, his eyes expressing utmost exhaustion. "I do not know if I am able to do this mom," he said. "I do not know if I can repair things." Her voice was steady and soft. "You can. But you cannot do it by yourself. Ask for help from those who care. Start by doing the right thing. You need to mend the company, but you must mend yourself, too. You run from everything—your past, your mistakes, your heart—and it all catches up to you."

"Like you're all different but same." "Exactly like that," I said. Kissed her forehead. "And that's perfect." She fell back asleep. Safe. Loved. Whole. We stayed there. Watching her breathe. Feeling the bond pulse steady. Feeling the valley heal around us. Feeling ourselves heal. We'd almost lost everything. Almost broken irreparably. Almost destroyed what we'd fought so hard to build. But we'd learned. Grown. Changed. Not into the same person. Into better versions of ourselves. Versions that could coexist. Complement. Harmonize.

His companion nodded in agreement, adding, “Perhaps peace isn’t the absence of pain, but the courage to keep loving despite it.” The conversation drew the attention of an elder, who approached with a kindly smile. “My dear ones,” he said softly, “every day is a chance to mend what was broken. Our scars remind us of what we’ve overcome, and our laughter is the anthem of our resilience. Cherish these moments, for they are the building blocks of our future.”

It is what we come back to, what we make room for, what we are brave enough to mend. She gazed at him. "Will it stand?" he asked. She leaned against his hip. "We will."
