I couldn't help it, the absurdity of it, the distance between who we'd been on that piece of paper and who we'd actually become, the fact that we could stand here now, married twice over, two children's worth of chaos behind us if you counted Mitchell as an honorary third, and laugh about how little either of us had understood what we were starting.
"We were so young," I said. "Not in age. Just…. in everything else."
"We were idiots," Kian said. "Both of us. Separately and together."
"Spectacular idiots though. I mean, look where we are now."
Kian smiled and kissed my lips,"The best kind."
