Evelyn’s POV The siren grew louder and we knew something wasn’t right. There was no way the cars would arrive before the jets and that only meant one thing; we were running out of time. As quickly as it came, the euphoria of seeing Zeke free was short-lived, replaced instantly by the cold, desperate scramble for the exit. We ran low, keeping to the shadows of the immense, skeletal shelving units that towered over us like concrete giants. We were now settling into the reality that, perhaps, agonizingly long minutes, away.

One problem at a time. That's all I could do. One problem at a time. Even if all those problems were building up like a dam about to burst. Even if I knew, deep in my bones, that I was running out of time to fix any of them.

It was as if the person had carefully erased any trail that might lead back to them. The silence between was tense, punctuated only by the soft hum of the machines and the occasional beep of a system alert. "We need to think outside the box,". I said finally, his eyes narrowing as he thought. "Whoever is doing this is smart, but they might have made a mistake somewhere." Having stayed for two hours of no fruit. We got tired,each if us relaxing . It's getting too late and I would not want to go late. " Time to go". I poured out.

“So, what do we do?” Evelyn’s grip on the wheel tightened. “We move faster.” The words were simple, but they carried a weight that settled deep in my chest. We were running out of time.

Hurry up or we'll miss the best time. [Rea, what's going on?] [Rea, seriously, hit me back.] [Rea, 20 mins till the clerk's office shuts. We won't be able to get the certificate.] [Rea, are you messing with me?] [Rea, can't believe you're pulling this...] Seeing those texts, I could practically hear Jace going from panicked to pissed off, and finally just plain frustrated. The last message was sent at 11:55. His patience had worn thin, barely lasting an hour.

But he was going to find it really weird. We were supposed to leave soon, I checked the time and it was last three pm, Adam was not still speaking to me, so I was not sure he was not going to come over to where I was. And I was not interested in actually making anyone late. So I decided to call everything out. I squeezed dads hands, and stood up. Automatically, we knew it was time to say our final goodbyes.

"The ritual. We have to stop it." But how? We were trapped, with no way out. And Tunisha's voice was growing louder, more insistent. I knew then that we were running out of time. We had to act, had to do something. But what?

Good, it's about damn time they took this shit seriously. I didn't hang around long. I still had shit to do. Because of this we'd cut into our time. We still had to make preparations to leave, like seeing about putting someone in charge of the jobs we had lined up and packing up what we may need once we left the compound.

Bennett said. “If it can be done before tomorrow evening, it would be great because we are running out of time,” West said. “This has a limit too?” Dr. Bennett said. “Yeah, we forgot to tell you,” Wendy said and pursed her lips.

But as I stood there, staring at the blank screen, I could not shake the feeling that we were running out of time. And that whoever was behind this was always one step ahead of us.
