I didn’t catch the rest of their conversation, but I sent David a message, warning him to be careful. He didn’t reply. I returned to my hellish regimen, watching my weight drop: 150 pounds, then 120, then 110, 100, and finally down to 95 pounds. The day my training ended was about two weeks before the New Year, and every major company was holding its annual celebration.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN At the diner, the food tasted far better than I expected. Maybe it was the pregnancy, or maybe I was just hungry—but I ate more than usual. Luca gently held my hand and said, “Slow down. You’re eating like someone who hasn’t eaten in a week.” I paused and looked around the table—Steve, Dr. Roberts, Dora… and my husband, Luca. For a moment, we looked like one happy family. “Doctor,” I asked calmly, “will I gain weight because of the pregnancy?”

I laughed along with her as she told me her life and imagined a world far away from the Hell I was living

They did everything they could to deter me from losing weight, tempting me every way they could. In the end, I grew so obese that I couldn't even walk or get out of bed, and I finally gave up all hope. I could only watch helplessly as more and more fat piled onto my body. Even when I fasted and refused to eat or drink, the fat would still appear out of nowhere. That feeling of utter helplessness was both despairing and exhausting

Note: I feel the need to say this. This was the first story I had ever written. If you hate that the female lead is weak I get it. This is one of those times when she has to learn and grow. I can not eat them both. “You didn’t eat breakfast, or lunch. We’re gonna miss dinner. What’s holding you back?” “I don’t want to gain anymore weight” I keep my voice quiet. “Baby you’ve lost like twenty pounds in the past two months. You are getting to an unhealthy weight” “You don’t like my body?” My eyes start to sting, because I hate my body. But I don't want him to hate it, too. “I love your body. And I’ll love your body if you gain 50 pounds. Or more. I don’t love how you’re treating yourself. I don’t want to see you suffer like this”
