Mine is in the gym, others were at the parties.” He laughed then looked at me. “My friends once told me you’re gay, that you’re into women and not interested in men.” I squinted my eyes. “Your friends talk about me, huh?” “Well…” he shrugged, then we both laughed. “That rumor about me was false. I’m not interested in women, I’m into men. And I think people nowadays just love spreading rumors, huh? Rumors about you were proof of it, as well.” “Hmm? Rumors about me? Haven’t heard about it. I just hope they were good rumors and not bad.”

I can’t just stand and watch this. I step back from the door and grab my phone. My hand trembles as the screen lights up. I type: immortal beings myths, then Elaria supernatural stories. Search results pile up—cheap blog posts, conspiracy forums, old news snippets. It all feels fuzzy, not making sense. But one word keeps popping up: werewolf.

I heard once that fact is stranger than fiction, and even though I felt like I was in the middle of some sort of strange, surreal dream, the facts were all there. I’d met a man in the middle of the street in the dead of night. He’d just appeared out of nowhere. I’d taken him home, slept with him, and then woken up to his accusations that I was taking pills to hide my wolf. My mother corroborated his story and told me her back story. It was unbelievable on the surface—I mean, come on—but I had no choice but to believe it. Both stories lined up in an uncanny way. I could deny it all I wanted, but there had to be some truth to it.

I then noticed a comment in the comment section. "In the original story, Waylon's insistence on marrying Zoe led to a fallout with his parents. Zoe eventually drove the Sorenson family into bankruptcy, causing his parents to age decades in one night and commit suicide by jumping from a building. Their current situation just makes me want to burst into tears."

We talked for hours as the night wore on. “You really thought about quitting because of burnout?” I asked, tracing a finger along his chest. “Yeah. Days blurred together. This time I climbed on top, riding him slow while we kept talking. He looked up at me like I was something special. His hands roamed my body, squeezing my breasts, guiding my hips.

Each volume of Strange short stories will have 3 medium-sized stories and about 10 short stories. This guy was going to make me go insane before graduation. I peered through the aisles, reading each genre that hung above them. As I passed the comedy section, I couldn't help but stop on my tracks as I caught sight of some titles that seemed to be out of place. I walked towards them, tilting my head to get a better look. A smirk escaped my lips as they all coincidentally seemed to be about werewolves. I had to admit, the stories that kept being published were starting to be idiotic, but even I, who wasn't a fan of them, knew that they didn't belong here. Oh well, the librarian will catch it sooner or later.
