I awake with a slight headache and sit up, looking around the room. I realize I am alone and stand carefully. I look around the room in search of the bathroom. I decided to try the black door by the balcony first, and internally dance it is. I turn the light on and look in the mirror. My hair is stuck to my face, and my eyes are puffy and red from crying. I close my eyes and take a deep breath.

"I'm actually in a good mood. Once my eyes get better, I can go on with all the things that I've been wanting to do." "Of course! Would you like some soup?" "Get me some. I will have it on my own." "Sure." Shortly after, Mike returned to the room with a letter for discharge. Avery had finished her soup and was handing the bowl back to the nurse. "Avery, I'm done with the procedures." Mike walked toward her. "I want to take you to a resort to rest and recover." "Is that necessary?" "It's a house next to the ocean. The ocean view will be good for your eyes." Mike had already made the reservation for the house.

"Sorry mother, I lost the track of time. The garden side gate is closed I'm taking the other door. I'll join you both in just 15 mins for dinner." Anya just cancelled her call when a ball comes to her making her startled and she loses her balance but a strong arm holds her waist and pulls her closer and she immediately inhaled a musk fragrance. Anya puts her both hand on that person's chest to create some distance then looks up and met with a pair of blue-green eyes but this time those eyes were without any ridiculing or mocking. They were looking so pure that she couldn't help but become fascinated and she thinks "His eyes are so beautiful!"

“I am so glad you are both safe and home.” Elnora’s compassion confuses Izzy. “We are a different breed here.” I giggle as Izzy looks to me for help. “Is this ok?” She asks, and I nod. As soon as I do, she wraps her arms around Elnora in a hug. “Welcome home,” I call over to them, and Izzy smiles. Her smile is filled with much more than happiness.

I sadly add. "I sorta can," Nate shocks me by saying. I look at him with large eyes until he elaborates. I was pleased to see he face was clear tonight, no glasses of any kind guarding his eyes, which he blushed madly about when it was the first thing I said to him when he got into my car. "I can see better in the dark. Bright lights are what irritate my eyes. But when it's dark, I can see outlines of things. Like if you put up your fingers," he reaches down and grabs my hand in his and my breathing instantly hitches in my chest, "I can tell you're holding up three of them."

In a second, I’m standing up, blinking in shock. In front of me is a short blonde boy with sweet and warm brown eyes that feel like home. “L-“

The town disappeared behind us. The farmhouse appeared. Lights in the windows. Smoke from the chimney. Home. We walked inside. Catherine was waiting, her face breaking into a smile. "You found them." I nodded, my own smile spreading across my face. "Yes." She looked at the children, her eyes soft. "Welcome home." The children ran to the toys. Laughing. Free. Their small voices filled the room. The girl with green eyes walked to me, her hand reaching for mine. "Can I stay with you?"

Nervousness. He has never look at me like that before. I mean, he has always hated me, but I have never seen it this much in his eyes before. His brothers’ eyes almost say the same, and I can interpret it. I’ve never read eyes before but now I can, and their eyes say, “Welcome home, Elena.” God, they are going to kill me. It’s all that rings in my head right now. My eyes sway away from Ryan’s, I don’t know how, but then it lands on Tyson’s. I haven’t told you their surnames yet. It’s ‘French' and the fierceness from their surname sticks with them too.

And here is a smiling boy made of the same stuff as me, in a warm bright city full of my own kind, holding the door of it open, and every instinct I own is screaming that the kindest voice I have ever heard belongs to the most dangerous thing I have ever walked toward. “Forgive me,” the young man says, and he steps aside, and gestures us forward, up the dock, into the blue-white light and the terraces and the windows full of the people I came to save and did not know were already here. “I’m forgetting my manners. You’ve been falling for a long time and you must be so tired of being afraid.” He smiles, and it reaches his eyes, and that is the worst part, that it reaches his eyes. “Welcome hom

“Your eyes! They’re so pretty!” My eyes? “What’s wrong with my eyes?” She stood up and moved the life size mirror towards my direction. My hands went to my cheek. I walked up towards the mirror closer. “Mom! My eyes!” They’re yellow. Amber, specifically. Just like dad’s and Lathre’s. “Is this normal mom?” I don’t think I’ll get used to it. “After your awakening, your eyes changed permanently. I’m just glad you’re awake now Lorcé. Miraculously, your body doesn’t seem to be weak now.”
