Hilda shouted in horror and dodged it. Keondra stood firm and swung her sword as the creature came straight at her. Blood splashed on her face and the werewolf crashed to the other side of the road in blood and wince in pain. The truck suddenly stopped and a man jumped out, his white hair flying with the wind as his fangs grew out. And above his ears were three little spikes that grew out of his hair with the middle spike being the longest. The tattoos sticking out of his neckline extended to his face as his eyes completely turned black.

She beckoned to Dora, letting the wolf rise within her. She shifted. Fur exploded from her skin, her vision sharpened, and she joined the battlefield in full form. Her white wolf was smaller than the others, but faster and deadly like a ghost in the fog. Then she saw him. Callum. Pinned. A rogue had him against a stone slab, fangs bared. Lily sprinted. She leapt. And sank her teeth into the rogue’s shoulder, tearing muscle and bone as she dragged him off Callum.

This must be Remington. And Remington… was a werewolf.

The scientist smiled and pressed the remote he was holding. The man named Uno stopped running when he felt a pain in his head. He stopped running and growl. He looked behind him to see what the scientist was doing, but he had run a long way in just one minute. “Ahh!” he cried out again when he felt the pain again. He fell on the ground and suddenly felt all his bones cracking and his body felt so hot. As he crawls on the ground, he felt that he’s slowly changing into something… a werewolf!

I demanded, becoming irritated. For a few moments we sat in silence, in a staring competition. I glared at him and he finally gave in and sighed. “There are a few ways. The most common way is to remove an essential organ, such as by beheading or tearing out someone’s heart or lungs. Simply injuring the organ doesn’t work, as werewolves can just heal. But removing it completely is a guarantee for death. Another common way is poisoning by wolfsbane. Our pack sometimes shoots darts filled with wolfsbane at enemies to get it into their bodies quickly. But you can also die from eating it or if it’s pushed into an open wound.”

Brown fur glossed in the glow, matted with dirt and old blood; gold eyes fixed on them with a terrible focus, head low, nostrils testing heat and fear. Tom lurched up, wobbling on the bad leg, snatched the silver steak knife from his tray. “Leslie—behind me.” “Don’t be stupid,” she hissed, backing anyway. The werewolf crept forward, shoulders rolling, breath fogging in the cold. Tom threw. The knife flew clean and buried to the hilt in the creature’s right hip. It screamed—rage and pain braided—staggered back, clawing at the silver, then whirled and limped into the tent maze, swallowed by canvas and shadow.
