As Jenna and Logan celebrated their victory, they suddenly heard a loud roar coming from the forest. They looked up and saw a huge, black wolf standing at the edge of the clearing. The wolf's eyes glowed yellow, and it snarled at Jenna and Logan. Jenna felt her heart skip a beat. She knew that this was no ordinary wolf—it was an Alpha werewolf, and it was here for revenge.

During pregnancy, she-wolves are prohibited to shift in their wolf forms in fear that it could hurt the unborn pup. In certain instances that the pregnant she-wolf has to transform, a witch or someone with mythical powers should be veiling the baby with protection so that the mom can transform to and back without hurting the wolf-pup inside her. One caveat, though, the baby should be less than 10 weeks old.

That’s what happened with Lucas.” Relief washed over Bella’s face, but she also looked extremely confused. “So… I’ll have to take care of a puppy for five years?”

So that she wouldn’t have to go through something so terrible again. But if it helped her move on, if it got her in his arms, he would do whatever was necessary to make her his. Its fur was a sickly shade of gray, matted and filthy, and its eyes glowed with an unnatural yellow light. The creature’s fangs gleamed in the moonlight, longer and sharper than any wolf’s she had ever seen, and its claws were stained with the blood of something long dead. Liam’s eyes narrowed, the familiar fire of the Alpha flashing in them. “You’re not welcome here, Raze.”

"How do you feel?" "Are you okay?" I ignored her question with one of my own. Her eyes shifted to my figure before looking back down on her own and shrugging. "I guess it's better than a mausoleum." My eyes cast downward. "Sorry, bad joke." "Did I hurt you last night?" "No. But...has this happened before?" "When you get to a certain age as a wolf, it's a rite of passage to experience it. I guess kind of like a human's sixteenth birthday or maybe their twenty-first. They do it so we understand what it's like in case we ever encounter it."

The pup sniffed at the air before it ran further inside. “Alpha Mike!” A male werewolf saw the pup limping toward him and cried out in delight to the packmates behind him. “It’s the lost pup! We found it!” When Mike, an Alpha of another pack, saw the pup’s injured leg, he frowned. “Someone’s bandaged his leg.” The pup whined and bit down on Mike’s robe before tugging him along. “I think he wants you to follow him…” “Let’s go.” The pup barked and brought them to Zoey’s side.

As babies, all werewolf pups shifted. It usually happens days after their birth, or sometimes the mother will have their children in their wolf form. The parents will then take turns shifting and watch after their pup; this is how the wolves establish bonds with their young. And after the first shift, you usually don't shift again until you are much older. You don't even get your wolf's consciousness until you are around six or seven; sometimes it takes until the pup is ten years old to talk to their wolf.

He hissed in anger, and I couldn't help the following words that came out of my mouth: “What’s wrong, Adrian? You're a vampire, you don't like a little blood?” “You know what, Poochie? I've had enough of this. You know what another word for a female dog is? A bitch. You’re a little werewolf bitch who is in way over her head. Your pack is probably grateful you ran away, that way they could choose someone better to take your place,” he hissed.
