THE CURSED ONE
The sky cracked with a silent boom, and from above, a burst of blue light exploded across the heavens like a celestial bloom.
The stars pulsed and danced, and blue beams descended from them like strands of silk.
All around Laura, the clearing began to glow.
She gasped, eyes wide with awe.
The blue light circled her, wrapping her in cool warmth, like a mothers embrace. The beams of starlight began to take shape—elegant women, ethereal and radiant.
They looked as though carved from light itself, their skin translucent, their eyes galaxies. Each star (woman) shimmered with celestial energy, halos of stars orbiting their heads.
