Accidentally Kidnapping The Don
Jax warns him that if he passes out, he’ll wake up missing a leg.
But Carl can’t control his body’s response, and when Jax swings the machete down over his fingers, Carl screams and goes limp, passing out instantly. I stare at the hand, watching the twitching remnants of what were once fingers. At the start of all this, I was fine—I could watch Jax carve up the men who hurt me with a detached sense of justice. But now, I feel drained, the reality of it all hitting me hard as Carl begins to rouse, groaning in pain.
“Welcome back,” Jax laughs, tapping Carl’s face to ensure he’s fully awake. Carl’s eyes land on me, and despite everything, he smirks, sending a shiver down my spine.
