He turned instantly, reaching up.
I tossed Sayler down. Nash caught him, cradling our son against his chest. I jumped next, landing hard and rolling, the breath knocked out of me.
Kai was the last. He didn't jump; he fell. He collapsed over the railing, his strength finally giving out. He hit the bushes below with a heavy thud that made my stomach lurch.
"Kai!" I scrambled toward him.
He was trying to push himself up, his face ashen, his lips blue. "I'm fine," he wheezed, batting my hand away. "Garage. Now."
