His silence weighed heavy, his thoughts a storm I could not see. For a while, I welcomed the silence. Bits of images I couldn’t make sense flashed in my head—images of the glowing symbols, of the twisted creature, of the figure cloaked in shadow. They were like shards of a nightmare puzzle, missing pieces, lying more disorganised than usual. But one thing was sure, the curse was not some joke. It was alive and it had its sights on us. “Do you think we’re safe now?” The silence was broken by Jameson’s voice.

Hambora replied almost too sudden while Glamora covered the distance between them. "Did they say what the creature was before they died?" Glamora asked while Hambora gave him a no no sign "Fine, get our Men Ready. The time for fun is over, take as many weapons as we can carry, We have a creature to hunt!" Glamora ordered and walked away, followed by Hambora and his men who trailed behind him and walked into the armour room. Meanwhile, a few feet into the darkness that crowded the passage. Cassie who had eavesdrop on the entire Conversation smiled and hurried to her room. It was time she proved to her Father that she was ready for a Hunt.

A freak accident that left me completely alone in the world. But now, I couldn’t help but wonder. Were they werewolves too? Had they known this would happen to me? Alaric said the curse didn’t activate unless you killed someone. If they were werewolves, had they never triggered the curse? Or was it something else entirely? I glanced at the window, where the light of the setting sun was fading, giving way to the night. The full moon was coming. I could feel it—a strange hum at the back of my mind, growing stronger with each passing moment.

Evan squeezed harder, making Carmen cough. "Die!" "Do you really want me dead? Don't you want to know where Lyra's head is?" Carmen used the last of her strength to say this. Evan froze for a moment before slowly releasing his grip. After a while, Carmen got up and opened the fridge. There were two glass jars inside with my head and kidney both soaking in formaldehyde.

Those years of waiting for his arrival never seem to end. It’s been five years now. The alpha is yet to be found, neither could Imogen find a way to lift the curse nor did she forget how Braylon was swallowed by a dark shadow right in front of her eyes. She is yet to discover what that shadow was. And she will stop at nothing to look for a way to lift the curse. ***

He didn't appear to be upset to be joining his mate at all. Of the more than 3,000 omegas that had started The Hunt, only 243 were still unclaimed. That night, 243 Hunters returned to the castle and planned the next phase of their attack. Because, at this point in the game, their animalistic nature could do nothing less than attack.

“Because of you. The goddess is never cruel, she bound Leora’s soul to the curse as well. That is why it repeats. You, Violet… you are Leora returned. The curse is equally his and yours to bear.” Blood roared in my ears, me? ME? “I am not Leora.” I rebuffed immediately. “It doesn't make sense,” Brian added, but his tone sounded like it already made sense to him. “It doesn't have to make sense,” Willow replied gently. I shot to my feet. There wasn't much space to pace but the three back and forth steps were enough to do the job. “So what, I've been body hopping and getting killed by the same wolf for almost a century?” My voice was louder than I intended but I didn't care.

I shoved a few people out of my way as I hurried toward the distant fight. As I turned the corner to where the fight was, I arrived just in time for the enchanted glasses to be knocked off Khalid’s face, the glamor fading away to reveal his true face as one of the vampires from Tulio’s nest punched him as two others held him in place. Well shit. Maybe he should have enchanted something that couldn’t be easily knocked off. I knew in an instant they recognized him as the wanted hunter.

Despite everything, a small breath of laughter escaped me. But it faded quickly. Because the truth was sitting heavy in my chest. We hadn’t just found a clue. We’d found proof. “Next time… we bring an army.” Someone had been quietly waging chemical warfare against the Crescent wolves for decades. And now that we knew… There was no way in hell we were walking away from it. As we neared the hummer Terrence let out a yell, and we quickly set him down. Alex came flying out of the Vehicle.
