“Here they are,” On a long fancy table and feast, different unfamiliar faces have gathered. I want to hug myself when I felt how cold and dead the room felt. As I looked carefully, vampires with different races and bloodlines. However, all of their aurae screams power and superiority, as they hold the red blood wine and lay at their seats like it’s their own throne. This is the Valentin-Octavian Bloodline, I whispered to myself as I stand there stunned, their hawk-like eyes on me as If I am their prey, and one wrong move feels like a sin.

×Anastasia× Rain pours heavily on the hood of the Mercedes AMG. The soft tapping of it should ease my mind, but it doesn’t. Nothing relaxes me anymore. I’ve forgotten what it feels like to be at peace. “Take me to the bedroom, life is all I’m asking for.” The lyrics to that song said love not life, but who am I to correct my aunt. She has a big smile splitting her cheeks, and a happy tune playing through the radio of the car. Her brown hair bobs with her head, and her manicured fingers work the steering wheel with precision.

--- Dinner was… an experience. The menu consisted of dishes that looked normal enough—roasted meats, glazed vegetables—but every goblet at the table was filled with blood. I stuck to water. Which, by the way, made me the only person in the room not drinking blood, and I could feel the curious stares from the other guests.

“At the standing stones. The ground there hums because the earth remembers a different name for itself. You set the shard between two of the teeth and you sing the right note until it stops answering.” “Sing,” Kaelira repeated, skeptical. Maris shrugged. “Call it what you want. It’s older than the Circle’s chants and quieter than your wolf’s growl, but it works.” She cut her gaze to Zevran. “If you let me come.” Zevran stared at her with the steady, unreadable look he wore when he was choosing whether a thing lived through a night. “Why risk yourself.” “Because I have a brother,” Maris said simply. “And the Circle took his body apart to find where the magic leaked. They put him together agai

On the surface, it was the largest casino in New York, but in reality, it was a hub for intelligence gathering and money laundering for Matthew’s organization. They quickly passed through the crowded crowd, with those who didn’t recognize them mindlessly continuing to enjoy themselves. Money seemed as cheap as trash here, with chips being tossed around everywhere, falling onto the floor. Some people were shouting in celebration of a win, while others were crying and screaming for losing everything. The place was chaotic, yet maintained a strange sense of balance. Matthew held Emilia’s hand, as if afraid she might get lost.

I can never tell which. I close the sketchbook gently. Brush the hair off his forehead. He doesn’t wake up, just makes a small sound in his sleep and shifts a little. Mara’s door is closed. I can hear music coming from inside, something with heavy bass and angry lyrics. She’s awake. Probably hasn’t slept. Probably waited up for me and then gave up sometime around two. I don’t knock. I go to the bathroom instead. Close the door and turn the lock. The tile is cold when I sit down on the floor. I pull my knees up to my chest and rest my forehead against them, trying to breathe, trying to think.

Hearing Frederick's words, Kimberly jumped with joy and stopped crying. While wiping her tears, she pointed at Mary, laughing and said, "You're covered in syphilis, yet you're making fun of me." "Slut, I wonder how many people you've slept with!" After being pointed and insulted, Mary was furious and she was ready to fight Kimberly. "You bitch! I am going to teach you a lesson!"

“I did not come here without reason.” Naomi maintained eye contact with Paige, even though her heart began to pound faster. Yoren’s order was absolute, yet she still had to keep her composure in front of Paige. “Today,” Paige added, “is my scheduled day to donate blood to the Alpha.” The sentence hung between them like a small bomb. Naomi froze for a moment—long enough for Paige to notice. Paige gave a thin smirk. “Oh, don't tell me you didn't know.” “I know, Lady,” Naomi replied quickly, doing her best to control herself. “However, the Alpha's order remains the same.”

My blood dripped, pooling beneath me. My vision began to blur from the immense pain and dizziness. Yet, through the thick smoke and the chaos of the shootout that had now erupted across the hall, my gaze was fixated on a single sight that tore my soul apart far worse than any bullet ever could. My wife. My Mary. She was crying hysterically, screaming my name with tears flooding her beautiful face. Her wrists were bound, her small body being dragged away by that fucking demon out through the glass doors. "Mary..." My voice was nothing but a weak, bloody rasp.

Once, the energy of her powers faded away, the scent of Dawn's blood wrapped around the house thickly and my fangs elongated, my heart warming up at the thought of seeing my mate again, that was until the putrid scent of the dead vampire who laid a few feet from us distorted the scent in the air. "Where in the dark hell are we? What the hell happened here" Fatimah asked, looking around the building before gazing back at me. She moved towards the body, her eyes taking in every little detail of it. "That is a gruesome way to die, but I must say it looks so clean, it's like a piece of art," Fatimah said as she inspected the severed head of the dead. Masika stared at the corpse, her eyes widenin
