We had the truth.
Voss spread his arms wider, and his pale eyes gleamed in the torchlight. "For too long, this pack has allowed impurity to fester in its midst. Weak bloodlines. Tainted bonds. Omegas who forget their place." His gaze found me in the crowd, and his smile widened. "But tonight, the old ways return. Tonight, we are made clean."
He nodded to one of the Silence guards at the edge of the platform.
The vials were hidden around the perimeter. I saw them too late. Glass tubes tucked behind torches and under benches, each one filled with a dark liquid that shimmered red when the moonlight hit it. The guards tipped them over in unison, and the virus spilled into the air.
