When Does Aelin Get Captured By Maeve Novels & Stories

“The worst is still coming. Kael’s main army—” “Will be here by moonrise.” He shifted back, his body streaked with blood, his golden eyes locked on hers. “But they’re not the real threat.” Elara’s throat went dry. “What is?” He stepped closer, the air thickening with the scent of the mating heat, now so strong it made her dizzy. “Us. When the moon hits its peak. When the bond is wide open. When we’re both too lost in it to fight.” The mark sang, and Elara knew he was right.

Choosing her baby first felt selfish and strategic and savagely right all at once. Mae clapped her hands once, sharply. “All right,” she said. “We have a half‑hour before we move again. Kieran stays here with Rae and two guards. Second, convoy loops around to pick you up after we clear the worst of this mess. Daire—” “Stays with Elowen,” he said immediately. Mae rolled her eyes. “Obviously. You’re as subtle as a bonfire.” Rae settled on the floor near Kieran’s cot, knife out, cleaning blood from the blade with a torn strip of cloth. “If any more bounty‑sniffers find us, I’ll make sure they forget what they came for,” she said.

I screamed and the lone surviving vampire laughed. “You are a hard woman to fine, Auri Meadows.” I whipped my head in the direction of the last vampire. “Who are you?” “You could say I was a friend of Micah. I was his side when the Alpha King killed him. Isn’t that right, my liege?” I growled. “What do you want?” “Frankly, we were going to just grab some werewolf kids and head out. But this…this is so much more poetic don’t you think?”

“You came back for her.” Kaela’s voice echoed behind him, distant “Aeryn” but when I turned, she wasn’t there. Only shadow. “She weakens you,” Cael said again, stepping closer. “You feel it, don’t you? You’re slipping. Becoming something else.” My hand gripped his blade, but when I drew it and slashed, it passed through the figure like smoke. The wind picked up. The mirror of the Frostfang crest shattered behind me. Cold magic swirled at the edges of my vision.

I didn't even bother to listen to what he was saying, I head butted him so hard I saw stars, hearing a groan, the hands around my waist released me. I took off heading to the direction of the ship. I got to the entrance and saw two guards standing there, they were looking at me strangely, I was breathing heavily, "help!! they're after me",I pointed to the angry looking aliens coming my way. Then for effect I fainted.

Rowena The room immediately turned into huge chaos as soon as the old hag came. Vivi’s mom, who works as the Alpha’s advisor, screams as she sees the state her daughter’s in. She ran and held Vivi’s head and whispered comforting words while crying and kissing her rapidly. The chaos intensified when servants came to see what the commotion was about, and I could feel their accusing gazes fall on me. I lowered my head, not wanting to add another drama by silently retreating, but got stopped as Vivi’s mom stood up and slapped me.

I nod at him and turn, leaping into the air and shifting into Hera. We run to catch up to Aolis as he walks to the front lines, moving to stand beside Ailduin. We’ve just reached his side when Lorelai and her army march out of the forest. From the corner of my eye, I see GoldMoon and her herd exit on the left and I see Dominic and Tialha exit the forest on the right. They are here to fight as well. Lorelai looks at us, and evil grin spreading across her face, just as Aolis speaks.

Ario POV “Your majesty, our camps are being raided by King Aelle and Queen Maeve,” the general said. I sighed, rubbing my forehead. I don’t know how long it has been, but it has been long enough to know that Maeve has completely gone crazy. She and Aelle have been attacking us, killing the men. I have not set my eyes on her since that night, and I am not even sure I want to.

She thrashed, screamed, eyes wide with horror, but he loomed over her, snarling like a madman. Rage exploded through me, and I didn't think. I lunged with my full hybrid strength, grabbing him by the collar and flung him across the room. He flew like a broken puppet, slamming into a wickery shelf. Wood shards flew, and he crumpled, groaning, blood trickling from his split lip. I rushed to Maeve, dropping to my knees beside her. "Maeve, it's me. You're safe." I wasn’t even sure she could hear me, but my hands began to work the ropes, freeing her arms gently. She looked up at me, relief flooding her face, but then her eyes rolled back. Her body went limp, collapsing against my chest.

That mattered more than I wanted it to. “What happened?” she asked. Ethan told her. Not everything with feeling. There was no time for feeling. He gave it like a report, clipped and controlled. The attack. Vaelcryns. Aetherfangs. How I took to the sky. Spiro arriving with the black dragon form. The Aetherfangs killed by Spiro’s flame. His claim that he served King Tobias Viremont. King Lucian Viremont’s attempt to claim the fertileland. The fallen barrier. Astrid’s warning. Two traitors from this side. One a Prima wolf. With every sentence, Maelin’s face changed. Not dramatically. She was too disciplined for that. But horror moved through her slowly, like ink spreading through water. By the
