When Does Aelin Get Captured By Maeve Novels & Stories

Mauren said, voice low and shaking, “that your Majesty… may be committing treason against the crown.” The room fell into icy silence. Aries rose, fury darkening his features. “How dare you!” “Wait,” Aurora said, lifting a hand. Her voice remained steady. “Why would you say such a thing?” “I saw you—or someone who looked exactly like you—speaking to my daughter in her mirror,” Mauren said slowly. “I followed her. I heard what she and the other alphas planned. They spoke of moving before the white witch arrives. They are conspiring against you.”

"She’ll never be yours." I stepped closer, my smirk widening. "If I were you I'd be more worried about where I'm going," I murmured, then turned to the guards. "Get him out of my sight." Kael roared in protest as they dragged him away, his body fighting against them until he disappeared up the stairs. Alina collapsed onto her knees, silent tears trailing down her face. Now, only she remained. I took a slow step forward. Then another. The dungeon was silent except for the soft crackle of torch flames and her uneven breathing.

Maeve was in danger, and we needed to get her back and out of the clutches of Alpha Kenneth. If he knew that Maeve was giving birth to an Enigma, then that meant she and the baby were both in danger. We met up with Lucas, Princess Mia, and some of the Vixen warriors, near the Dawnguard Pride borders. That was where her scent kept leading us to, but then it would go off in different directions. I noticed it when we started the search a couple of days ago. I hadn’t slept… none of us had slept, so I knew we were all exceptionally tired, but it still wasn’t making any sense. I just hoped that Lucas had good news for us.

Maeve barked. Maeve vaulted off the platform, her fully restored shifter speed making her move like a blur across the arena floor. She intercepted Morrigan at the exit doors, sweeping her legs out from under her and pinning her stepmother face-down onto the concrete floor, snapping a pair of heavy suppression cuffs over her wrists. "That's for my knee," Maeve growled, yanking Morrigan to her feet. In the center of the arena, Archon Malakor scrambled to disengage from his heavy, unpowered exoskeletal suit. The suit's heavy chest plates hissed and unlatched, spilling the gaunt, trembling old man onto the hard stone floor.

"All this talk of an 'inside threat' was just a distraction, a way to prepare us for when you 'found' the real evidence against her. But you got the timeline wrong, didn't you? Damon found it first. Your plan backfired." Panic, cold and sharp, pierced through Alessia’s shock. They were losing. The story Kael had crafted was a fortress, and they were hammering on the walls with bare hands. She looked at Liam, at the set of his jaw, the determined glint in his eyes. He was fighting for her, for them, with everything he had. She couldn't let him do it alone. She couldn't let Kael win. Pushing past the tremor in her limbs, Alessia stood up, the scraping of her chair cutting through the tense sil

Excitement coursed through her as she started to read the letter. My lady I express my deepest apologies for sending this late. You must have waited for too long and I do know how frustrating that could be however I have good news. The Alpha took her out on a picnic and they won't be back until tomorrow. I think this would be the perfect time to strike. What would you have me do and how would you have me do it? I am at your service and I would be waiting at the dark tower thirty minutes before dawn by tomorrow's night.

Little did she know that waiting would bring about unexpected challenges. Days turned into weeks, and Ace's absence left a void that was difficult to ignore. It was during this time that Alpha Larole; Ace's father, sought her out. She sensed the weight of his presence as he delivered a request that sent her thoughts spiraling. Alpha Larole asked her to accept Alyssa, Ace's mate as a maid to their family!

“It’s a place for truths.” Drake shifted beside him. “Then let’s speak them.” The elders exchanged glances. Rovan sighed. “There is more.” Of course there was. “The King intended for the future ruler to take a Luna,” Maelin said. “A queen who balances power with wisdom.” My chest tightened. “Elise,” Rovan said plainly, “has already proven herself central to the bond between her and Prince Derek. Her presence steadied the journey and allow Prince Derek to find the herb. Anchored you. The elders believe...”

she said aloud. "Okay, Mom," Lily replied, rising with Dandy, who had his arms around her waist, kissing her neck. She flashed me the middle finger before heading upstairs with Dandy, laughing. What hurt most was how Dandy completely ignored me. "You will be Alpha Enzo's personal maid from today onwards," Patricia said, and I frowned.

"The broken alpha weeping over his little witch. Tell me, does it hurt knowing you failed her too?" "Shut up," I snarled. "Oh, but we're just getting started." His voice was silk wrapped around broken glass. "Wait until you watch my queen drive the knife into your heart herself. Wait until you see how eagerly she'll twist it." At the altar, I saw Evangeline's shoulders shake. Just for a second. Just long enough for me to know she was still in there somewhere, screaming. "I'm sorry," Maeve whispered, her voice growing fainter with each word. "I should have been faster. Should have seen it coming."
