"Do you think words matter? Can they resurrect the dead? No. They can't." Levi glanced back at the elves. The portal was almost complete. Time was running out. He shouted over the roar of dragon wings and fire, "I also know you never touched Princess Eloise. You had no idea she came to the Vampire Realm. I'm not telling you this for forgiveness—I'm telling you because… I want to survive!" With a surge of speed, Levi darted toward the portal. "Everyone, get inside! Now!" The elves tumbled through the shimmering gateway, one by one. Micha stayed behind just long enough to ensure Levi was safe before diving in himself.

[Mason's POV] I stood and stared into the glowing portal that Talon and the others had created. Despite telling myself everything would be okay, I couldn't stop the sense of dread that overcame me. "You're wasting time." Talon snapped, stepping beside me. "I've already told you that your time is limited." "I got it." I sighed, bracing myself. Taking a deep breath, I dove forward into the portal. Immediately, bright balls of light began to swirl around me, growing closer and closer until they were encasing my body. It felt like my very flesh was being burned where they touched.

She thought that this man had misunderstood her, but she decided to roll with it. "It's great that you admit it," as she said that, she silently sent her thoughts and what she knew to Liam's mind. Then, she started to do more to gain information from this man. "If you admit more, I'll truly forgive you." *** BZZZZT... ZZZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING! The buzzing sound of a spatial portal being made was heard. Liam was ready in front of it and saw a man walking out of the portal alongside his thousands of ravens.

🌊🔥CHAPTER 06 🔥🌊 “ Dad, no!!” Hudson yelled as the portal closed up. “ Why the fuck did you close up the portal” He yelled at Paisley, ready to strangle her. “ Calm down Hudson” Leriel said, holding him back. “ Am not at fault, Hudson, I couldn’t hold up the portal much longer because the building was collapsing, interrupting my focus” Paisley tried explaining. “ You should have tried holding it much longer” Hudson yelled.

The magic climbed—higher, sharper—until it felt like the room itself was holding on by its fingernails. Then— A sound tore through the hall. Not Lily’s spell. A rip—clean and violent. A blue portal split the air to Lily’s left, cutting through her magic like it wasn’t even there. The runes on the floor flickered, then went dark. Cameron swore. “Uh. Guys? I think it working.” “That’s not my magic,” Lily said sharply, spinning around. The portal stabilized, its edges shimmering silver-blue, humming with a low, resonant sound that vibrated in my bones.

“Sort of, anyway.” Side by side, they stepped into the portal. Leah felt the familiar tingling run through her body, and for a moment the world vanished, as if they had become engulfed in a bright white fog. No sounds at all reached her ears; even the humming heard outside the portal had vanished. These sensations did not last long—no more than five or ten seconds at most—and when Leah could see again, the ocean they had been wading through was gone. Instead, she found herself standing on soft green grass at the edge of some thick woods. Everything was far more green and lush than she was used to back in San Diego.

I stumble backward into the portal, my cry of protest snatched away by the vortex. As I tumble through the in-between space, I catch a glimpse of Ava on her knees, blood trickling from her nose as she holds the portal open with sheer force of will. “I love you,” Uncle Leo mouths to Ava, his eyes shining with unshed tears as he sinks to his knees, blood pooling around him. “I love you too,” she whispers back, just before his eyes slide shut, and he crumples to the ground. “NO!” I scream, but the portal is already starting to fray, the magic flickering as Ava’s strength gutters out. I should have been flung out the other side by now, but the vortex is collapsing in slow motion, seconds stretch

He attaches the broadsword and a small shield to the harness and pats Lex on the back. He takes a step back and holds up his flute. The tune he plays has notes I’ve never heard before. I think I can only hear them because Lex can hear them. It almost sounds like there are multiple flutes playing in harmonizing keys. Just as he said, a hot white portal opens at the treeline, getting larger and larger until there’s enough room for Lex to fit through. “There you are my dear. You have your marching orders.” Pan strokes Lex behind the ears. “Iokaste only needs to press the button on the chest plate when you’re ready to return.”

I looked around and saw my dad, almost freezing. "Dad?" I called out and he looked at me. "Are you okay?" I asked him with worry lacing my voice. "I am." He said with a tight smile that had him gnashing his teeth. Well, without any body warmer we are out here in the snow. Leticia, I really appreciate. Note the sarcasm please. "The next portal will be available in three minutes." She announced and we nodded our head. Three minutes passed, she activated it again and we got in as we did before This time we found ourselves in the middle of a place I can't even recognize. It was filled with dirty ashes. Gosh, the smell was so nostalgic. I coughed out and Leo started rubbing my back.

Putting his hand on the wall he says more of those words I don't understand and pulls me through the wall, literally through a wall. Once on the other side of the wall my stomach royals up and before I can stop it, I vomit on the ground next to me. "I'm sorry I am not sure what happened." Lyle laughs "The first time I went through a portal I passed out and puked all over myself it's no big deal." taking a deep breath I look back at the wall "a portal?"
