It made me want to rip the calm look off his face with my bare claws. I could not get his words of refusal out of my mind as the bottle of whiskey made contact with the floor. I looked at the bottle and sighed as I grabbed another bottle from the cabinet and threw it to the floor. My anger was rising and the sound of the glass hitting the floor made me feel like my anger was being heard. Loud and clear.

“And they strike when they feel threatened.” A sound whistles through the air, one high pitched and painful to our wolf's ears. I growl in anger and pain, my eyes scanning the area when I spot him, a heavy wind whipping through the trees, the pale underside of green revealing his dark mop of dirty hair and eyes crazed and angry as he moves a metal whistle from his lips and produces something smaller. He lifts it, places it to his lips again.

“About what happened. About why—” “Why?” He cuts me off, the word carrying dangerous softness. His fingers trace the rim of his glass in that deliberate way that comes with warning. “You want to talk about why?” I swallow hard, watching as he takes another measured sip of whiskey. “I know you’re angry—” “Angry?” The laugh that escapes him carries no humor. “You think this is about anger?” He sets the glass down with a tremor that speaks of barely contained violence. “Tell me then, Alaki. Tell me what drove you to betray everything I gave you.”

Anger bubbled up inside me the more I thought about it and leaned down and grabbed my phone off the bedside table and angrily typed out a text; Seriously?! You just sneak out and leave me here in bed like some cheap wh*re?! It wasn't long before I got a reply back, and honestly, it just made my blood boil more! Well... I wouldn't call you cheap, but, wh*re... maybe. I had to leave. I have work and need to shower and change first. He called me a wh*re! He called me a f*cking wh*re! F*CK YOU!!!!

“It’s burning! Let go! It burns!” Veronica is just laughing. I don’t know what comes over me. I am already angry, but this time, this heat building inside of me is different. I unleashed all my fury on him, despite my limbs being restrained. Even though my hands and feet were still bound, it didn't stop the power of my wolf teeth. I was sure that if I exerted more force, I could break his hand.

Mich added as she was trying to tell us not to waste our time any more and leave. But these punks got balls to even wheeze and say, “Oh come one, how dare you when we're the one who just tried to help you.” I. Am. Done. With. This. “Bro, I say you let us be or you'll regret talking. You disrespectfully interfered. You would not want to see a tiger,” Clint warned him. “And what are you gonna do?” Ok. I. Am. Done. With. This.

Not just angry—he looks murderous. What the fuck is this, then?
