It felt like I had waited a lifetime for him. I could feel his breath against my ear as he leaned in closer and whispered, “It’s a promise I have no choice but to keep thanks to the way you looked today and the reaction you had.” My own breathing intensified. I felt like I was panting. Desperation spread through me with every second he was beside me. He shifted his hands, using one to cover my eyes still, but the other one moving. The next thing I knew, he was placing a piece of fabric across my eyes. Tying it tight behind my head.

I fumbled for a tissue in my pocket, wiping away the tears that streamed down my cheeks. "I know you can, Tyra." His voice, though faint, held a quiet confidence. Then, through the swirling mist of my tears, I saw him. A silhouette against the dying light, his figure barely discernible, yet somehow radiating a warmth that pierced the chill of the forest.

“ Meara!” The whispers started again, soft but notable. I tensed, my eyes snapping open. I scanned the field, but there was no one in sight. The sound seemed to come from the tree itself, from the rustling of its leaves. I pressed my palms against the rough bark and closed my eyes, focusing on the whispers. " Come... find... me..." The words were faint but distinct. My heart raced. Was I losing my mind, or was there something more to these whispers? I stood up, brushing the dirt off my jeans, and took a few steps back. The whispers grew louder, more insistent.

He whispers the words harshly, and each syllable enunciates his fury. No words seem to leave my lips as my gaze rakes his face that’s resting inches from mine. Dear God, his eyes are so...green.

One by one, their eyes turned to me. I could hear the whispers start. “Is that… IRENE?!”

She closed her eyes and let the music lead. And just like that, the walls she had so carefully built began to shift. Visions flared. A house with blue curtains. Hands clapping after a recital. Then flames. Walls melting. Screams muffled behind closed doors. A child’s voice crying for help. She missed a note. Another. Then stopped altogether. Tears welled. Hot, unforgiving. She pressed her palms to her eyes. It hurts God, it hurts. The remembering. --- Outside the glass room, Adrien waited.

ZACH She still sleeps beside me. Still breathes against my chest like I’m the only thing keeping her grounded. But something’s off. Not in the way she touches me, she still reaches for me like she means it. Not in her voice, she still says my name like it’s hers to keep. But her eyes? They’re quieter now. Too quiet. My eyes flew open, and I looked right into Gunner’s piercing gaze. “You can trust me” he whispered. My head felt dizzy and my eyes wanted to droop closed. “Everything is alright” he said in a soft gentle voice. I tried to struggle again but I still couldn’t move. I fought as hard as I could, until all that I could do was scream. And I did. I scrunched my eyes closed tight and screamed out in frustration. “Look at me Whiskey” Gunner’s smooth voice called to me. I wanted to ignore him, to yell at him and demand he let me go. But I didn’t. I opened my eyes and looked into his glowing silver orbs. A wave of calm washed over me.

"Open your eyes, I want to see in those deep dreamy eyes, my beautiful." Slowly she opened her eyes , they were full of love and want. A soft chuckle left his throat, seeing his shy girl turning into a tigress . Then once again he commanded her to touch herself. She never wanted to leave her grip over her friend yet she tried touching herself rolling on the bed. Seeing her like this he was getting harder, not able to stay apart he quickly grasped her hands and then entered into her slowly and slowly coaxing her.
