So much for coin flips. “Guess you win,” I muttered under my breath, picturing Beth’s smug little grin. I reached for Whitney’s resume next. Last interview of the week—4:45 p.m. on a Friday. No way she’d had time to line something else up. At least, I hoped not. I dialed her number.

Corporation group chat immediately lit up. Marilyn typed first: [Should we throw a welcome party for Wes tonight? It’s his first time back from Hollywood.] Whitney chimed in right after: [I’m in! I finished my inventory and checked the equipments in the plant. Everything seems to be working well in my station. I saw Thalia waving in her station and gestured that we should have lunch together. It's almost 12 in the afternoon. So i prepared for lunch. I saw Engr. Albert so I instructed my workers that I'll be off shift. "Engr. Summers". He teased me. "Drop the formalities, Al." I rolled my eyes at him and started giving him reprts about my shift. It didn't take long and I went straight to my office to check the papers that need signing.

What's with this thing? While looking at it, I remembered something. It's still bothering me, my punch easily caught by him. I didn't put too much force yet he instinctively cached them even without looking cause he is busy pissing me. "The two of you, go back to work!" I brush my hair using my finger and stand. Sam also does the same. My shift ended at 5:00 pm, I cover the working hours that I wasted when Mrs.White preach to me in her office. After my shift, I change my clothes and drove my scooter to my apartment.

"7am to 6pm but realistically, you never close" he said and I smiled, "don't be late" he added . Best closing hour. I stretched out my arm for a handshake, "it's nice meeting you, again, Mr Gray", he smiled and shook hands with me.

Lucas Reed worked late on Thursdays. I knew that from my first life, when I had noticed the light in his third-floor office at Whitmore Group burning past eight on Thursday evenings, long after the rest of the floor had emptied. I had never known what kept him there. Junior lawyers at firms like this one had no shortage of work to justify the hours, but there was something specific about Thursday evenings that I had always found notable without ever acting on it.
