Silence crashed through the hall. My breathing turned ragged and my vision blurred red. Even Serena stumbled backward. Then Aiden slowly pushed himself off the wall. His dark eyes locked onto mine and he smiled wider. Like he finally found something interesting. My wolf snarled. For the first time in my life, I wanted to destroy someone. And his name was Aiden Cross. I left without looking at anyone. I knew my father would be angry with me because of it but right now I didn't care. I couldn't tolerate seeing that jerk’s face anymore.

White mist emanated from its mouth as it approached Fifi, making it difficult for her to remain conscious. Fifi desperately stimulated specific points with needles, using the pain to stay awake. She continued to bite her tongue as well. The wolf howled. Yama, the white wolf, was very eerie. As it approached Fifi, it continued to howl softly. The sound appeared to have magical properties, causing Fifi to see scenes she should never have seen. She knew it was an illusion, but it was exactly what she desired. Finally, Fifi was unable to resist and fell completely into the illusion.

White fur cut through the mist, bright as snow, and piercing red eyes glowed in the dark. The woman vanished as the wolf stepped forward, breaking through the fog of whatever I thought I saw. I'd never seen anything like it. Even my mom's wolf wasn't that white. The wolf stared at me, still and silent, with an expression that almost looked like concern. Confusion tightened around me, more than the pain. I didn't know anyone with a white wolf. None of the nearby packs had white wolves, and we didn't have many around able to shift on demand. That alone felt wrong. I tried to focus, to make sense of it, but the image slipped away as my mind faded back into the fog.

I turned facing him. “You’ll know when the time is right” he added. I frowned at him not understanding him but I just nodded before getting out. I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding. What did he mean this time around? I stared at the chandeliers hung high in the ceiling. This mansion looked like a puzzle waiting for me to solve. What did he mean he was an Alpha of ‘White Fangs Pack?’ If this wasn’t a gang or a cult group or sort? What is it then? I needed to do some research, it hasn’t even been a day yet and so much has happened. I started heading to my room counting doors and staring at pictures.

"That kill was surgical. One bite, spinal cord severed. It means Instant death and that takes a massive jaw spread and a hell of a lot of experience." He walked over to me and crouched down so we were eye level. "So," he whispered. "Who invited a guest to the party?" I swallowed. Jax was dangerous but he wouldn’t harm my savior right? "I don't know who it was," I said honestly. " it was a white wolf, huge. It came in, killed the Silverfang, and left." Jax went still and his eyes widened slightly. "White?" he repeated. "Yes. Like a ghost."

I nod my head. “No other packs have towers that close to the pack house. The sound of the hum from the electricity hurts werewolves ears too much to have one that close. White fang is the only pack that I know of that has one within a twenty-mile radius of the pack.”

My heart was pounding so quickly, and my inner terrors were screaming at my soul. “We need to get out of here,” I whispered when he glanced at me. He nodded and was about to sprint away when he stepped on a twig, causing it to snap and echo through the woods. “What was that?!” Ethan didn’t waste another second. He sprinted away from the police, heading deeper into the woods. He shifted the backpack to his front; I saw Bobby sticking his head out. He was awake, but he looked incredibly fragile.
