At first glance, it made people feel frightened. If someone had been poked, they would have been pierced into a sieve. In the second blue light was a halberd. The halberd was ice-blue all over, as if it was made of frozen ice. It flickered with a sharp light, as if it could cut the void and harvest life with a slight movement. In the third ray of white light hovered a long saber. The hilt was several feet long, and the blade was even taller than an adult. The whole long saber was white and transparent, like a huge crystal.

I need my sword. Reaching behind my back, I feel the cool, smooth texture of my marking shift beneath my fingers. There’s a brief moment where the ink pulses, almost as if it’s alive, before it solidifies into the hilt of my sword. I draw it out, feeling the familiar weight settle into my hand. The blade hums with energy, a glowing blue that pulses in time with my heartbeat. This sword is mine, a part of me, born of my blood and soul. Athena’s gift, forged from my very essence.

The white light came from somewhere beneath my skin, washing outward, and I was on four legs before I realized that I had moved. The forest went quiet. Every wolf around us stilled. Menae glowed bright under the moonlight, white as the first snow of the season, and she and Shadow stood facing each other for one long breath. Then Shadow pressed his head against hers, slow and certain. And the light from Menae's coat spread outward like a wave, washing over every wolf in that clearing. I felt it go through the bond and through every warrior present like a tide. The healing warmth of the white wolf making them stronger. Steadier. More than they had been for weeks.

I outburst in frustration. Damien chuckled. "She'll be fine; she's just afraid. She's awake, Sage, maybe not mentally but physically. She needs assurance that she's safe before she can heal completely and wake." My brows furrowed in confusion. "She's an Afsrid wolf." I didn't say a word yet, but I digested what he had just said.

The two spoke in unison, their auras erupting instantly. Cody flicked his fly whisk, sending countless silver threads, as sharp as blades, stabbing toward Lincoln. A faint azure glow lingered on the fly whisk, clearly infused with the Zen Magic Path's Mind Clearing Spell, capable of both harming the body and disturbing the mind. Lincoln drew the longsword at his waist, the blade humming as if it had met a worthy opponent. In the next moment, a fierce sword energy shot through the air, colliding with the silver threads of the fly whisk.

Mira clawed at her throat, her eyes wide, terrified, her fingers scraping at nothing as the invisible force tightened around her neck. Rowan lifted his other hand to finish it, and that’s when it happened. A flash of white. No, it wasn't white. It was blinding, holy even and almost impossible. It erupted right in front of Rowan, exploding outward like a star being born. Every warrior, every puppet, every creature on the field cried out and shielded their eyes. I fell onto my hands as the world turned winter white. “What…?!” Rowan snarled, stumbling back. The light reached my skin, warm, and familiar, and I just knew who it was.

I gathered more energy to take them out one by one. “Stand down!” Their leader in the cowboy hat stalked through the door, gazing at the scene. “This is what happens when you disrespect the white wolf. She is a gift. We are winning our war because of her powers. The scales are finally tipped in our favor...” What? The energy moved out of me into a storm—a small storm with gale-force winds that knocked the hunters into one another. The leader knelt in front of my cage, mumbling some prayer. Others followed his lead. These men were getting crazier and crazier.

“I’m remembering it. Correcting what you corrupted.” Nyrix rose. “Then come. Thread-bearer. Stitch your final defiance.” Selene drew her hand across the air. The thread unraveled from her skin—silver and white, burning like starlight and blood. It wove itself into a blade. Not to destroy. But to sever. To slice clean the rot from the root. She stepped forward. “You fed on fear. On forgetting. I carry everything.” The two forces collided. And the world screamed. --- She saw herself again—every version—fighting beside her. Old. Young. Bitter. Kind. Wolf. Woman. Spirit.

The white light crawled up my arm, turning my red energy into a brilliant, blinding silver. I stood up, holding the Star-Breaker. It felt lighter than a feather. Malakor lunged again, but I didn't dodge. I swung the silver blade. It sliced through his mechanical claw like it was made of butter. Malakor fell back, the violet light in his eyes fading. He looked at me, and for a second, the lenses went dark. "Lyra... run..." The Forge began to shake. The walls were cracking, and a deep, red light was pulsing from the floor.
