she asked, cocking her head to the side.
“Noth—nothing,” Riley stuttered.
“Our people are dead, and the Alpha is missing, but all you can think about are your petty issues with me,” she growled.
Riley lowered her eyes, and her long hair covered her face. She had never known her bully to show anyone that type of respect, even when it was required.
“If you have a problem with me, come find me after I bring my Dad home,” she growled.
She moved, and Riley flinched. Not just Riley—several people stepped back, and when she looked around, she saw the fear in their eyes.
