Raven was the son of my uncle Kallius, the benevolent and kind Kallius. He was too soft to be a king, so my grandfather decided to give the throne to my ambitious father. I got on well with the boy, but I didn’t like him when he played cunning. At fourteen and entering his teens, it made him quite unpredictable.
“I’m not playing, Raven. Stay away from Juliet, stay away from her siblings.”
“I couldn’t do anything to her even if I wanted to,” he admitted. “She is a rude girl. Who doesn’t get scared when they see a vampire in their house?”
