Forsaken Luna's Second Chance
I’m weaving through the crowd, focused on picking up a few things for Bailey’s training meals, when I hear her voice—slick as oil, unmistakable.
“Well, well,” Thalia purrs, just loud enough for others to hear, “didn’t think I’d see you out in the open.”
I turn slowly.
She stands across from me with a casual smile, too manicured for this part of town, holding a peach she hasn’t paid for. Her hair is braided like a crown, her tunic fitted perfectly. She always knew how to dress for a kill.
I stay calm. I’ve learned not to show teeth too early.
