“We’ve got to drain the blood before it spreads, but I don’t have any O positive with me. He might not make it if—”
“I’m O-positive, Jade!” The words were out before I’d even thought them, my gaze snapping to Riley as his skin turned a sickly, unnatural shade. “Take mine. Use my blood.”
She froze, the protest on her lips dying as our eyes met. Then, after a single, hard nod, she moved into action, nodding at Riley.
“Hold him down,” Jade ordered, her voice sharp as she turned the scalpel, her gloved hands already smeared with Riley’s blood. My pulse hammered as I stepped closer, gripping his shoulders to keep him steady.
