“I’m sorry, what?” Charlie ranted about vampire law, something she was well read in due to her grandfather but apparently, the whole ‘being invited in’ thing about vampires wasn’t because of their powers but because of the LAW. Laws that were overseen by the Vampires of the Archives, traditionalists that preserved the history of the vampires and other supernaturals—if it was relevant at least. To keep the criminals separated from the responsible, rule-abiding vampires, one that was invited in was known along with the risks, unlike criminal vampires who’d force their way in and kill their meals.

I had seen face changes in movies, I wanted to know if there was some truth to it, but Damon didn't laugh, and answered with seriousness
