Subalit isang gabi, habang sinusubukang tumakas sa isang birthday party ng kaniyang kasamahan sa trabaho na ginanap sa isang engrandeng hotel ay bigla na lamang may humila sa kaniyang matipuno at ubod ng gwapong lalaki. Sobra-sobra ang pagpupumiglas na ginawa niya sa mga sandaling iyon pero dahil mas malakas ito ng ilang beses sa kaniya ay walang kahirap-hirap siyang nadala ng lalaki sa isang malawak at engrande ring silid. At doon isang mainit at masarap na gabi ang kanilang pinagsaluhan. Napamura pa siya sa isipan kinaumagahan nang bigyan niya ito ng huling sulyap bago umalis. Ang lintik naman kasi, hindi manlang nabawasan ng kahit kaunti ang kagwapuhan kahit tulog at gulo-gulo ang buhok dahil sa pagkakasabunot niya. Hindi makapaniwala si Isabel sa pangyayaring iyon. Hindi niya akalaing ganoon na lamang siya kabilis na bumigay sa lalaking kahit pangalan ay wala siyang kaide-ideya. Lingid sa kaniyang kaalaman na ang lalaking iyon na kaniyang nakatalik ay isa pala sa dahilan kung bakit patuloy siyang tumatakas sa nakaraan.

The two spend one Sunday reminiscing the past expecting a closure in the end but the wonderful moment they share this time only makes it harder to achieve that closure so Cela has to put a stop to it saying, “Please don't think even for a second that there is still something left or something new to explore after everything that happened or did not happen.
