William Murdoch Mysteries Novels & Stories

A cloud of gloom had settled over William. “Yesterday I got a lead—an address where T-Murek might be keeping his victims. But when I checked it out, I discovered it was a little bungalow. I searched the building and that’s when I came upon a room covered in many photographs. Your wife’s picture was among them.”

“Yes, sir.” William dismissed him with a wave. The moment the door closed, he returned to his desk. Something wasn’t right. His instincts kept telling him that. The pieces no longer fit together. Damien was missing. Celyne was back at the mansion. Alexander was becoming more possessive. And somehow everyone expected him not to notice. William laughed quietly. A mistake. A very big mistake. His gaze drifted toward a photograph sitting on the corner of his desk. A much younger Alexander stared back.

"I told you. I'm not Eleanor." "No," he agreed quietly. "You're not." He disappeared into his office, leaving Maddison alone with the ghost of his kiss still on her lips and the weight of everything they'd learned. Someone wanted her dead. William's father had orchestrated her kidnapping. His mother had abandoned him. And somehow, in the middle of all this chaos, they were falling for each other. Maddison spent the afternoon exploring William's library, losing herself in first editions and architectural drawings. She found sketches he must have done years ago, buildings that would never be built, dreams abandoned for duty.

"Yes, you should go home." William looked at her with nostalgia for a long time before leaving, but he did not go straight home, but drove to Madison's house. The Madison's living room soon became a place of chaos. Her assistant and a few close friends were crying, especially Madison's sister was in a very bad mood right now. "I rarely get your trust. Tell me, if I can help you, I will definitely help." "My wife is under suspicion in the murder case. But your wife has been wronged, in the meantime, please help me arrange a good room for your wife."

the woman at the other end asked and he could hear a shuffling and movement in the background but he knew if he stayed longer, they might track him and that was the last thing he needed at the moment. “It doesn't matter, I will say I need to say and you will work with that” “How sure are we that you arent lying” “Well, your luck. I think she was taken by a middle-aged man and was drugged by some substance unknown to me but I can't say where exactly she was taken to” “How does this man look like” “Tall, lean, grumpy, wicked, mean, arrogant, loser there is a list. Work with this and I will let you know when I have something again.” with that he disconnected the call and checked the minutes use

A month later, the police informed me that the case was fully resolved. Adam–driven to despair after being rejected by the woman he idolized– confessed to everything. As it turned out, the moment he learned about our booking at the countryside guesthouse, he began planning the entire crime. He murdered the village doctor in cold blood, dismembered the body, packed it into a suitcase, and placed it in my car. He even hired a salon girl to pose as his lover, feeding her a script to follow. Afterward, he paid her a large sum and sent her out of the province.

The mansion was tidy, his boss ate on time, he seemed more responsible, he wanted to talk to him about his separation, but there were complications, regarding his absence and what he was doing, which Tsuki Miki didn't want to share. In the kitchen, William was making breakfast, when after several minutes, he was going to sit down and faltering when he sat down wheezing in pain and starting to drink the cup of coffee offered by William. Even if he realized it, his butler was worried about his boss who had more secrets than usual and was doing research on alien physiology on the cave computer...

None of us is safe here. William rubs at the crease formed between my eyebrows with his thumb. “It’s not your fault.” He whispers, staring down at me with so much compassion that I wanna look away. He knows that there’s something I’m not telling him. I know he can feel it. I see it in his questioning gaze, but I’m not ready to let the words out. How can I? How can I ever? There’s no motive behind the murder. I nod at William, sighing.

Her heart sank as she confirmed that Pete was indeed in trouble. ***** William sat in his car and made a few calls after he had dropped Jess at her apartment. He had been investigating Pete since he discovered that he was Jess’s boyfriend. He had hoped to uncover a secret lover or a random fling that would discredit him in Jess’s eyes, but instead he had discovered that Pete was not who everyone thought he was. He seemed to live a busy life where he met with many random people who had ties to the various criminal networks in the city. He also had several legit businesses although he barely spent any time there. His meetings were in high end hotels or clubs, and they rarely lasted for longer

Meredith smiled. *-*-*-*-*-*-* A new, unfortunate case in Maine proved to be a timely distraction for Olivia’s thoughts about her eternal battles with the old witch. Reports of people being murdered in bizarre ways had reached the Agency and it was almost certain that supernatural was involved. Olivia was chosen to be on the case and on the following day, she was scheduled to meet William for the instructions. “How are you getting on?” William asked casually. “Well, let’s see… An evil witch has been haunting my dreams and now I often seem to be lost in thoughts and blanking out,” Olivia replied.
