I stood off to the side and continued to watch the chaos ensue. Each of them got a cake and rushed off with their prize like a couple of children. I stood there trying not to laugh as I shook my head. Briar walked up to me with his cake and took a bite. His eyes closed and he hummed at what he was eating. Cindy : we'll just break the two bars into two, so the both of us could have both chocolate and vanilla. She did so and handed them over to Blue. He took out a large bowl and scooped at least ten large scoops of ice cream, making a mountain- mint chocolate chip, chocolate, vanilla- and then poured some soda around it, making it a thin layer underneath the mound of sugar. He got Nerds candy and sprinkled it in the soda and then got Twix, Hershey, M&Ms, and Milky Ways, sticking them in random places on the ice cream mountain.

I did, and it was sharp, almost medicinal, with a bitter aftertaste that made me wince. “Not a fan?” she teased. “You’ll get used to it.”
