Ruined by the White Veil

Ruined by the White Veil

Now, looking back, I realized there had been something strange about that day. "So," I said softly, "you were afraid I'd notice, so you tricked me into signing the marriage papers? I remember that you refused to let me see the names on them. You kept both certificates, saying you didn't want me to lose them." Julian lowered his head and clasped my hand, his grip tightening just slightly. "Yes." The admission came without hesitation. "It was wrong. I took advantage of your trust and of the faith you had in 'Vincent.' I was terrified that if you saw my real name, it would all end right there. That I'd lose the only reason I had left to stay."

Dark Descendant

Dark Descendant

The girl then brought her face closer, try reading the page of the book. Venus did not really understand, but the scene that was plastered was explaining the situation where Amerta's time finally approached its end. Because she did not want to dirty her hands with dust, Venus used the Air again to close the book. The cover explained that it was only a fiction novel that was inspired by the real circumstances of the downfall of Amerta. The downfall of Amerta. How exaggerated, Venus mind denounced. The girl took turns blowing dust on the two books that had been originally covered with Air Talent. One is titled ENCHANTED and the other is titled WOLVIRE, both appear to be writings from someone n

Blue Thread, Silver Scales

Blue Thread, Silver Scales

He began contemplating death. I turned another. Still death. “No.” I put it back. The sixth was poetry. Better. I opened near the middle. Grain. I read the next poem. Also grain. I checked farther back. Rain. Then grain after rain. I closed the book. Six Veyrathi books. Not one romance. This was a catastrophe of modest but genuine proportions. I looked at the shelf again in case a seventh had developed while I was reading about grain. It had not.

When Love Withered

When Love Withered

On college decision day, everyone at Westcreek High was talking about valedictorian Shawn Jamison. The hopeless romantic had turned down Velmont University for a less prestigious college that offered a huge scholarship! The school administrators were so furious that they immediately tore down the poster celebrating Shawn as the school's top student. Shawn didn't care. He was busy working part-time at a local club, hauling cases of beer. Once he finished his shift that night, his wages and scholarship money would be enough to cover college tuition for him and his girlfriend, Jenna Sharp. A moment later, several familiar voices came from behind him. They sounded like Jenna's closest friend

Iridian

Iridian

“unlucky contestants…shelf two, book thirteen.” It sounded oddly like a personal note. My curiosity won out and I skimmed my fingers along the spines of the books until I chose one at random. I pulled out a medium-sized book, a deep shade of navy blue. Earthen twine was wrapped around the book, and there was a picture on the front. A middle-aged man with chocolate hair and dark eyes smiled up at me. The cover of the book read, “Arthur Zimmerman, Game 71.

Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.

The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet

His Midnight Luna

My knees felt weak and I sat down immediately. “What do you mean by that?” She explained. “This writing is called Hillarian. It's the old writing of witches before we adapted our texts to be read by outsiders. We did it to make sure that our spells couldn't be read by other people who would use it for the wrong thing. The fact that this page is in Hillarian means that the book isn't in this house or with a witch. It's with someone who will use it for evil. We have to find it before they figure out how to open it. Right now, it's closed because you're the only one who can open it.”

VALENTINE'S DAY

VALENTINE'S DAY

Ethan’s P.O.V Valentina stared hard at the broken glasses, and she withdrew her shaky hands ignoring me as though I wasn’t there, she began to pick up her books from the floor, and one of them caught my eyes. It was a plain white book with folded edges, it seemed like a fictional book. “Valentine’s Day” was the supposed title, it was written in bold blood-red letters, I was interested in the book because this is the first time I’ve seen such a unique title.

The Mafia’s heir’s bride

The Mafia’s heir’s bride

It has to be here… maybe it fell, maybe the book is waiting for me. Her fingers dug into the torn strap of her bag, but deep inside she knew the truth, if the black book had left her hands once, it had done so by its own will. The great black book was not a trinket to be misplaced. It chose, it abandoned, it devoured. But Still, denial was a sweeter poison than admitting defeat. The more she walked, the heavier her thoughts grew. Princess Elowen's voice echoed in her memory, soft yet edged with forewarning.. Làpatasodará Valkà… the witch who walks between the living and the forgotten.

The Dance of Fates: Bellatrix

The Dance of Fates: Bellatrix

The young woman caught it and smiled, recognizing its crooked wings. With the others gone, Vivien let out a deep sigh. She pulled the hood from her head and slid to the floor, her back against the wall. She was still holding the book she’d flipped through and so she started to look over it again. The pages felt brittle in her fingers, like they could shatter if she wasn’t gentle, or crumble into dust and drift away. The words barely stayed with her; she wasn’t really seeing them. But the pictures were familiar and they calmed her a bit.

This gave me a great fantasy-themed anime vibes, those series which took place in an entirely different world with loads of adventure to occur. Those who are into adventures with multiple unique characters to choose from would defo enjoy reading this piece.

Love Wilts Like a Flower

Love Wilts Like a Flower

He showed no reaction whatsoever. When he got back to the villa, he couldn't make himself step inside. Without me, the villa had become a lifeless and cold place. He sat motionless at the door, as if waiting for someone to return, the same way I had waited for his return at the door, late at night, over these years. "Sir, you have a delivery. A Ms. Melissa Colby instructed us to deliver it personally to you." Upon hearing my name, Hansel immediately unwrapped the parcel with shaky hands.
