He could not get sick, or disease. Luckily, his kind did not need to prey on humans, or animals—or anything—to sustain its life energy. They could co-habit with them peacefully. There were some among his clan who attacked humans for sport, for a drug-like high: if they chose to, late at night they could transform to an enormous raven-like creature, roam the skies, swoop down and wrap a human in an embrace with their huge, air-tight wings, holding them like that for minutes until they depleted all the human’s psychic and emotional energy. They would leave them crumpled on the ground, collapsed, when they were through. They would never actually bite them. But they didn’t need to—when they wrap

I dismissed the thought of telling him there was an unconscious Winged Wolf in the closet and proceeded to ask him for more. "I've heard the maids mention it. I'm curious. What is the Winged Wolf?" "Winged Wolf is an arrogant race that prides itself on being noble. They can fly and seem to have the ability to manipulate clouds. They build castles on the clouds and live in them." "You don't seem to like them..." "They have always looked down on us. They think that we Giant Wolves are all barbarians. Yet they are the ones with bad manners. They're always throwing garbage out of the sky into the grasslands."

The winged man moved through the storm, shielding them and protecting them from the madness that was happening on the ground. Then something roared and she turned toward the sound. She saw general Thornfield, Alpha Reginald Almond and another strong wolf she did not know. The general commanded an army of vicious wolves to attack the winged man. But before they could climb to where he was; Light exploded. And everything disappeared. Vivienne blinked, her breath uneven as she returned to the present. The dream was still vivid in her mind. She had a lot of questions. Young Oliver. The winged men, the pale ones, ware-wolves fighting each other. Nothing made sense. Why was the general attacking O

They were there - faces contorted with pain, mouths wide open with screams that would never be heard – and then they were simply gone . The Powers that did make it were already crawling over the ceiling, down the shelves, hovering in the air as they swerved each thunderous bolt. Like the Cherubim, there was something vaguely human-like in their appearance. Despite the slavering grins, the scarred flesh that stretched over their angular cheekbones, the hands that ended in savage talons and the angel wings that beat at the air, I could see a similarity with the race they were so desperate to rule and control. They were like human hybrids, a breed cooked up in a nightmarish laboratory, an exper

Wings started growing from his back, but they looked too heavy and damaged for him to actually fly with them. The worst part was his eyes. They turned completely red, glowing like fire in the darkness. When he opened his mouth, I could see rows of sharp teeth that definitely didn’t belong to a human. This thing wasn’t like any Bloodborn I had ever seen before. It looked like some kind of demon, but it was also part animal. Its shape was weird and irregular, like someone had tried to create a monster but had done it wrong. The drunk woman was still screaming, but now she was screaming because she was terrified. She tried to run away, but she was too drunk to move fast. She stumbled and fell d
