Like something inside her had decided: No survivors. One Winged creature launched toward the sky, trying to flee over the roofs. Nyra followed. She rose, golden wings cutting the air like blades, and caught up in seconds. She slammed into it mid-flight. They tumbled. Nyra recovered first, always first, wings snapping open to stabilise her, and she drove the fleeing creature downward with her body like a spear. They crashed onto a roof. Tiles exploded. The Winged creature screamed. Nyra ripped its throat out. Black blood sprayed across broken tiles.

His limbs flailed, wild and uncoordinated. The legendary action star who had once seemed untouchable was now crawling clumsily across the floor like a child who hadn't yet learned to walk. Around him, guests struggled to suppress their snickers.

I can't change the color, but I like the dark shimmery blue of my wings. I can shape it into spikes sharp-edged appendages to hurt and maim. And a trick I know is that I can separate my wings from my back temporarily. It hurts a little, but the stunts I can do by doing so are worth it. Like scaring Mike. The angel moved too quickly for Wilbur to avoid it, and he grabbed the long sword as he glowered at the angel. In the next second, both the angel and its sword were absorbed into the white gloves.

They moved skillfully, and quickly, opting to fight opponents that had still been in human form. Ambrosia fought just the same but had Tiana and Zephyr as back up. This allowed her to fight wolves as well. Zephyr's white wings were beautiful and almost blinding. I wished I could have had more time to take in their enthralling, majestic beauty. One look at them had you in a daze. I reluctantly tore my eyes away from them to look at Tiana's wings. It resembled a butterfly's with multicolors, the most prominent being bronze and gold.

"Is it not true?" "Of course it's true," Win spat out before his tone softened. "Adom and I . . . what we have . . . it's forever." The angel flinched at the statement, clearly unhappy with what had happened. Win watched as Sam eyes moved over his body, his wings. "They're beautiful, you know," he said at last.
