The fire around Dracula flickers, and she reaches for it as it dies and she screams as Callie forces a shift. Kai and Ash are shoved from Eliza’s mind and they focus on the man who was now starting to dash for Noemi. Their t-shirts shred into tatters as they shift out their wings and fly for him, tackling him to the ground before he can hurt Noemi more. The next few pages show how the wolves didn’t eat the child, but took her with them. Then the illustrations jump to a battle scene, full of death and carnage. Bodies on the ground, and what looked like people and beasts fighting each other. Page after page showed carnage and blood, some images might be a little graphic to have in the Library to be honest. “If this book is about war, then what does the girl surrounded by wolves, from the first page have to do with anything?” The more I look through the book the more confused I become by the first few pages.

The marsh beyond the hollow walls stirred as if holding its breath. She felt everything. Rowan’s fury. Lucien’s hunger. Her own rising storm. She lifted her hands—fire and frost blazing in perfect symmetry. The marsh answered. Roots erupted through the floor in long, twisting spears. I tried to run toward the heat, toward the screaming orange light, but a pair of strong arms caught me around the waist.

I was late morning when Tristan entered the room pulling my head of the book, I looked at him in slight amazement. “We have the conference call in twenty minutes.” He greeted stepping into the room as I looked up. “What?” He asked and I held up the book. “Tristan, this book.” I stated not really knowing how to explain it. “It’s a novel, just a story that I found in the library, but it’s based on a family of werewolves, the two daughters, twins, were born with a special gift, they could produce fire and ice.” I uttered and watched as his brows rose. “They later became joint alphas of the their pack. Do you think this could be the story of the alpha twins that we were looking for?”
