I close my eyes, jump backward, and fall off the side of our city in the sky, Caelum. The air drags me through an abyss of grey. I close my eyes, a tear ripped from my face by whipping wind. I can never go home again. Spreading my wings open with a snap, I let the wind catch me as I break free of the clouds. The vast, dark expanse of the desert below sprawls endlessly before me. I looked up and was shocked to see my wife smiling at me.

Give in. I closed my eyes and felt him deep inside me. I felt him clawing away in there, and I let go, dropping whatever barrier was holding him back. A ring of fire spread across my eyes. My entire body was a light yellow fire with bright orange and red tips. Wings erupted from my shoulder blades, spreading wide beside me. They were covered in orange and deep red flames. Every step I took turned the sand on the shore into glass.

We stared at each other for goddess knows how long before I shakily reached out and touched the wings of the phoenix. I was shocked yet again when my hand entered it's body and though it didn't touch it's solid body, it submerged in it. It felt like hot lava yet I didn't burn. The tingles that raked through my body had my mind in a jumbled mess. What in this world was going on? My day just started and I have been freaked out enough to last me a lifetime.
