Winning The Week Novels & Stories

He made it sound like war. "Remember the price kids, so put in your best," Melissa said, she looked at me and explained " whichever team wins two out of three games will get to have anything they ask for throughout the week. The current champions are Jaden and John. Jo, here, wants something so she's going to try everything she can to win today. So, be careful, it can get a lot competitive" I should be careful? I'm the embodiment of competition. I smiled at her and the picking of teams began.

I query out loud. "Hmm... that is quite the conundrum. I am not sure that I can think of anything for sure that we could all do. Competition is fierce but only if they think that they will get something out of winning." She tells me. "I do have one idea but I am not sure if it is going to work or not. I guess we could give it a try. The winner will get out of work for a week but that will also possibly put them at a disadvantage as well so they might not really want to take the prize." I say mysteriously.

“I humbly welcome everyone to the first day of the bestie week, this week was made for us to relax, be kind to one another, show love to one another and even in the midst of our competition, we should remember the purpose of this.” I can’t believe how violently my body is reacting to his voice. All I can think about is the kiss. “Still, the games will truly reveal to us how well we know our besties, and the group that knows their bestie the most will win the grand prize, and this will also reveal the ones who do not even know each other.” He looks straight at me after he says this, goosebumps line the exposed part of my flesh. I nod, daring him to bring it on, because I do not intend to lose

“I signed it. Can’t you give a loophole or something? I’ve heard that contracts are like witch spells. They usually have loopholes. There is something we can do. Right.” She sighed. “I’m sorry Camille, but you can’t get your way this time.” “No!” I yelled. “I can’t let him win. There has to be a way.” “What are you talking about? Who can’t you let win?” I sighed and shook my head. “So there really isn’t anything I can do right now?”

I took a few deep breaths before taking the mic from him and facing the crowd, all of whom were wearing different expressions on their faces. Some were happy, some were dissatisfied, and some didn't hide their anger. One of those who didn't hide his anger was Victor Wheeler, who appeared to have already lost even though Arnold hadn't revealed who the winner was yet. Perhaps he had already sensed that Arnold would choose me over him. ‘‘I would like to thank my husband for giving me this opportunity to compete with other companies even though I'm only new to this world of business, but I promise to give my everything on this project. Thank you…’’

Not because she was strong but because she hadn't given up. Damien Hale sat alone in his study room. A file lay open in front of him. But he wasn't reading it. His thoughts were elsewhere, something wasn't right. He knew it. He could feel it but everytime he tried to focus on it. It slipped away. “Sophia Reyes wins again” reads one of the newspapers which caught Damien's attention. He slowly picked up the newspaper and saw a picture of Sophia standing outside a court house. Looking calm, confident and unrecognizable.

Just like that, Seth was able to rise through the ranks and become the youngest major general in history. Seth's parents thought I brought good luck to Seth. They didn't look down on me because of my background as a country bumpkin. Instead, they were very nice to me. Although Seth was very cold to me, I still thought of myself as a lucky woman. Only before my death did I realize I was very, very wrong. When Catherine noticed how dazed I was, she walked away smugly. A short while later, my mother opened the door. She told me the wedding preparations were done and that I would be marrying Nathan Prescott the day after tomorrow.

Three calls in a row. At that moment, my father's voice could not hide his excitement. "Sophie, I truly didn't expect this. You're incredible. "Three straight wins, all upset scores. Even if I handled it myself, I might not have managed something this clean." Marissa cried with joy and immediately took out her phone to spread the news. It was not only the Harbor City circles. The whole internet went wild. The tags "Sophie Bell's three-win miracle" and "the strongest young betting queen" shot straight to the top of every trending list.

“How did I not come to know about the bidding and you winning it? The results are out and there is no headlines?” “The result will come next week but I know I am going to win it since Ethan Walters who was using my wife’s idea, is disqualified and no one is as worthy as me. So, it’s a win for your friend.” I said with confidence.

“Well that's-” “I want to try one last time but this time let's make it a challenge-” my brows rose up at her. “You lost but you want to challenge me?” Eden was unnecessarily bold to think she could challenge me. “Maybe it would help me want to win, who knows, ambition do fuel our greatest selves.” she shrugged. “What do the winner get?” I asked liking where this was going. “Nothing extra, maybe like doing what the other wants for an entire week.” she answered holding the bow at a wrong angle. This was going to be interesting, I wasn't going to win but it was hard not to especially after an offer like that.
