John shrugged. "You could've just let me go." Bonnie said. "No can do, sweetheart. Anyway, Lorenzo asked me to give you this." John stuck his hand out, holding a white cane. Bonnie furrowed her eyebrows. "You do realize I am blind, right? I literally don't know what 'this' is supposed to be. John sighed and grabbed Bonnie's hand, placing the cane in her hand. "It's a white cane." He said. "Lorenzo thought you might need it." Bonnie nodded. "Thank you." She whispered. John bid his goodbye and walked out the room.

"B*tch it's soooooo hooooottt," I groaned. It's so hot today and I don't know why. "B*tch please, it's raining outside, how can you still feel hot?" Rhea raised an eyebrow at me. "Hot you say? Well that's because I'm here and I'm—" "Shut up! Jordan!" Cora and Rhea didn't let Jordan finished his speech about him being 'hot'. "Why are we in the market again?" I asked, like seriously, we're in a freaking super market!

She and some others even asked for my number which I politely decline and finally, the school students flooded out. I worked for some hours more ignoring my tiredness. It was in the fifth hour that the door opened and someone entered. No news was good news. A new box of mail stood on the glass table peacefully. But my eyes were far from it as I stared at the fireplace. It was cold so the fire was on heating the house. It glowed in its usual way and it seems to be glaring at me. At least it was better than me; in all ways. At least it glows as it does on summer nights. It heats the house like it always did. It did everything perfectly.

At dinner, my mom hit me with, "Tristan, why didn't you bring Chloe along? "We're not getting any younger, and you guys live so far away. Who knows how many more times we'll get to see Chloe?" I felt a lump in my throat and just kept my head down, focusing on my food to keep the tears at bay. "Mom, Chloe is off traveling with Sheila. We'll bring her by to see you guys for New Year's." No sooner had I said that than my phone started buzzing. It was Sheila. I stepped outside to take the call.

"With the company of some cops of course." Silently ambling to the car, the evening was cold and wet with a brisk wind, sweeping the rain across the land. The cold moved in only to meet the warmth of her blood, her defense against such ice. Raven could feel it wash over her skin, again and again, only to be met by the beat of her heart. She smelled the rain—realizing it was an absence of all odors. She wondered if it was because her airways were not functioning properly, she could feel the little hairs in her nose freezing .

A doe and it's fawn made their way to the stream cautiously but something happened. It was like mother nature didn't want them to survive. The river started to run dry. The water decreasing at an unusual pace. The doe runs off. Leaving her little one behind. I felt a sharp pain in my chest region as I heard the sorrowful cry of the young fawn started making sorrowful noises. The clouds darkened.
