"The solstice, as many of you know, marks the longest day of the year, a time when the sun stands at its highest point in the sky. It is a moment of transition, from the fullness of light to the gradual return of night. In this, we find a powerful symbol of balance and renewal—a reminder that even in the height of abundance, change is inevitable. “Spiritually, the solstice represents a time of growth and enlightenment. It is a moment when we are called to embrace the light within us, to recognize our potential, and to prepare for the transformations ahead. This celebration is not just about the turning of the seasons, but about the journey we all take towards becoming our best selves.

For better or worse, our time had come. Striving to appear outwardly calm, I broke the midnight-black wax, blood red against my fingers. One can only compare, could be the feeling when your skin is all clear and glassy and you don't need any foundation or maybe when you win the first prize of the biggest lottery ever or probably when you're in a hot air balloon and looking at the beautiful planet we live on. Aahana's POV The air around us has turned dizzy and tainted. Amidst dim lights, stars of love dazzling above us scattering and blessing us with their heavenly radiance, the light from the stars sieving through the window sheet stroked our soul with light; light amidst darkness. Looking at his enchanting face I turned scarlet when his breathy voice touched my skin. The dazzling stars wrapped us in the comforting solace. All this did the task of aggravating the emotional tornado we were already confronting.

He just stared at me for a moment, then quietly said, "Hold onto me." Before I could even process what he meant, a firm lift under my knees sent me into his arms. The move instantly drew gasps and cheers from the guests. Amid the applause and floating petals, Melvin carried me straight to the center of the hall. I was still reeling from shock when I felt a steady hand supporting my forearm. Melvin whispered, "You can lean on me. If it really hurts, tell me. We can pause the ceremony for a moment. Your safety comes first."

However, he never showed himself, leaving me with no chance to vent my frustration. This absurd routine continued until the Snowcrest New Year. It was the grandest festival on the Snowcrest Plateau. To my surprise, John did not show up. By the time the sun was setting, I overheard people talking. Another avalanche had struck the Skyspire Mountains. My eyelid twitched. A moment later, the neighbor’s daughter spotted me and asked in surprise, “Dr. Summer, isn’t that handsome guy with you? He went to get you a gift, didn’t he?”

"Yeah, it's over." The debts of my past life were settled. Love, hate, obsession, and entanglement were all swept away by time's current. As the sun sank below the horizon, I knew my new life was just beginning.

He leaned very close, his warm breath brushing against my ear, sending a slight tickle through me. I turned my head, meeting his deep gaze. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, freezing everything into eternity. “Happy Winter Solstice Festival, Xaibe.” He leaned in close to my ear, murmuring softly, “On the next full moon night, let us go to the Moon Goddess to mark our bond.” Outside the window, the aurora continued its dance across the night sky, its brilliant colors reflecting upon my face and onto Xaibe's face.
