I wanted to let you know that Echoes of Ruin will be going on a short, temporary hiatus. The story will officially return on January 1st, and this pause is purely a reset, not a goodbye. This world, these characters, and the story still unfolding mean so much to me. Stepping back briefly helps me stay aligned with the pacing, emotional weight, and intensity this series deserves, especially as we move into the next stretch of the story, where everything begins to tighten, fracture, and collide. I want to make sure what comes next hits exactly the way it should.

Everyone and I mean every single weirdo in that glowing crypt of a room was still staring at us, like they were waiting for a prophecy to drop out of my mouth or my head to spin. Seraphina, bless her emotionless witchy soul, finally snapped out of it, her jaw clenched, and she turned toward the psycho beside me. “Riven, what are you doing?” she asked coolly. “What did you just say to her?” Riven, yes, apparently his name was Riven, which sounded exactly like the name of a guy who kills angels and broods under red moons just chuckling. That’s it. He chuckled like he hadn’t just declared me his, sniffed me like cologne, and shattered what was left of my sanity.

Their wounds healed in the meantime and they were more energized to fight now. They didn’t change to their wolves and started fighting with the crowd of foxes right away. The foxes didn’t change into their fox form either, they were also fighting in their human form. Riven was fighting with a group of seven people at the same time. He was like a ninja who was barely on the ground. Giselle observed that his kicks were his main attack. On the other hand, Stefan was fighting in front of her with a lot of people. Not letting anyone come closer to Giselle.

His hair was longer than his brothers', falling just past his shoulders in dark waves. He and Kain looked more alike than Jax did. Like they could be identical twins. Jax had that princely quality that set him apart. But all three were devastatingly handsome and it was not fair. "The scent of books is my pleasure," Riven said quietly. "This is where I come when the world gets too loud." I nodded. We stood there in silence and it felt like we both had things we wanted to say but could not bring ourselves to speak them. I looked around and my eyes caught on something mounted on the wall. A medal. Gold and heavy-looking with ribbons attached.

Riven whispered to Luca, “On my mark… full bond. We strike together. Saint comes first.” Luca’s eyes met his, unwavering. “I’m with you. Always.” Suddenly, the master’s voice echoed across the docks, smooth and mocking. “Ah, Riven… brave as ever. Do you really think you can save them? That your bond is enough?” Riven’s heart pounded. “Watch me.” He surged forward, energy flaring around him like a white-hot aura. Luca followed instantly, their powers intertwining, forming a shield and a spear in unison.

Luca said while Mia was in tears already. "I'm sorry you found out like this. Yes I'm Raven but I love you for real. This..." "Nothing you say will make me still harbour some love for you. You have succeeded. You've ruined me, happy now?" He yelled. Raven's band mates were being distracted by the wolves and vamps so they didn't know what was going on here.

Underground arena the size of a football field. Bleachers full of wolves watching two fighters circle. One shifted mid-leap, massive black wolf tearing into a grey. Blood sprayed the sand. Astrid tugged me along before I could watch the end. Back up to the lobby. Massive marble space, wolves streaming in and out. Portraits on the walls—former Alphas, all dead-looking even in paint. “That’s King Voltage,” Astrid whispered, pointing to the newest portrait. “Taken down last month. Matthew slung his arm around Ambrose's shoulder as they stare into the edge of the sea, letting the waves touch their feet. "Remember when we used to swim over to that cave in that cliff over there?" Matt asked, pointing towards the direction of the cliff. "Yeah, I do," Ambrose chuckled. "I always beat you whenever we race." "Yeah, because you were in the swim team for most of our lives. I had no chance against you," Matt grumbled. "Stop grumbling. You're not four," Ambrose said. "Stop" *flick* "nagging" *flick* "me," *flick*. Matt said through gritted teeth while flicking Ambrose's forehead after every word.

She asked a question she knew the answer to. Everyone in LA had heard about the quick rising of the Viper Cell gang. And they've heard about his much quicker downfall. I wondered how many people knew Riven, the Grim Reaper, had defanged the snake? But I kept that all to myself as I kept my face deadpan. I'd rather not involve myself in this. So Ma tilted her head, slid her eyes over to Riven, and continued. "Since you boys are all playing in your little motorized clubs, I thought maybe you’d know something about it, Riven. It’s a small, savage world out there, isn't it?"

The Weight of What Remains There are moments that split your life in two — the before and the after. You don’t always see them coming. Sometimes they’re quiet, slipping in on an ordinary night. Sometimes they arrive with the sound of a door being kicked in and a gun going off. Either way, when the dust settles, you realize the person you were before no longer exists. I’ve lived through more of those moments than I care to count.
