Blue team wins.” As his voice booms through the woods, I look at him, “What do you mean it shouldn’t have let me touch it?” “To be honest, kid,” Counselor Mikael eyes me, “I was under the impression that your alpha werewolf friend might be the only one to be able to make contact with it. The black orb is not a normal locator orb. It bonds with those it touches. It is interactive. And only those with incredible power can touch it.”

I make it short, and he looks at me through narrowed eyes, confused, but I decide not to explain my crazy interaction with whoever that was, but do what I brought him here to do, and take the checkbook from my bag. “Tell me your name, please,” I request as I fill in the other fields, including the amount. “Why?” He asks suspiciously, making me smile. “Because I want to make your second biggest wish come true,” I answer as I look at him expectantly, and he opens his mouth, then closes it, not sure if he should talk, or if he can. “J-James Wilson.” He stutters in a shaky voice, probably realizing what I’m doing, and after I finish, I rip the check and give it to him.

I sniffed again, feeling like I won against the strongest wolf in our kingdom. He waved his hand in the air, and suddenly, a soft golden glow surrounded us. “How about I grant you a wish to make up for it?” My eyes went wide. “A wish? Really? Like, a real wish?” “Yep,” he said with a lazy smile. “One wish. Anything your little heart desires. But make it quick, I have places to be.” I thought about it for a moment, my mind was rushing me. A wish! Anything! I could wish for all the butterflies in the world, or the biggest cake ever, or—

Rhoda folded her arms. “No, I want it. I want my wolf. Leo’s going to regret rejecting me when I have my wolf.” Rhoda smiled. “That’s my girl. Now, there’s something called an Obsidian Stone. It’s a powerful object with magical powers and it can grant you one wish, after that it’s useless.” “That’s it? I breathe out. He looks at me to say more but slowly I see the understanding fill his eyes, “You want to use the wish Oshmin offered you to free your people.” I nod slowly. “Mei, are you sure?
