Doctor, what does this mean? Witches were thought to have died out after the trials of the sixteen-hundreds," the anchor said. The professor was a short, heavyset man with thinning hair. He smiled at her and shook his head. "The Salem Witch Trials were, as we all know, driven by hysteria and fear of real witches. In my book, Where Are They: The Truth About Witches, I go into greater detail about that particular era in history. It was my theory that the Spanish Inquisition, which ran from the mid-fourteen-hundreds

She was two rows behind me and one seat to the left and I could feel her eyes on the back of my head. Master Theron continued his lecture and the words blurred together and my mind drifted. "The witches of Salem," Master Theron said. "They were not the first and they were not the last. But their fate was the most documented. Their trials were the most famous. Their deaths were the most brutal." I pressed my hands together under the desk. "Nineteen people were hanged. One man was pressed to death. Several died in jail. When the time is right, I will fight for Dean and me, even if he forces me to hide because he is afraid that my family will not accept him. "Bring the witness here." Arvin's father demanded a certain presence of someone. A woman came in and the girl glared at me. I remember the woman they said to be the witness, I think she was the one I scolded because I caught her selling weeds behind the main building last year.

Summer tourists often came to the cove, fascinated with its macabre history. For, although the true nature of the tales surrounding it was fantastic, it was also a fact that five women had actually died as a result of a witch trial, and such an event would only continue to serve to fascinate.
