Connor practically charged out of the venue. He didn't even bother to change out of the cumbersome formal attire. The old pier was surrounded by patrol vehicles. The air reeked of blood and a faint smell of silver rust that made every werewolf instinctively tremble with fear. It was a poison engineered for our kind, designed to prevent healing and amplify agony. It was a contraband so dangerous that it was strictly banned even on the black market. Chris stood at the entrance of a warehouse with his back against the flashing police lights, holding a transparent evidence bag.

"The name VX, is a highly toxic organophosphate class compound. VX is a colorless and odorless liquid that can irritate the body's nervous system and is used as a neurotoxin in chemical warfare. You could die if the liquid hit your skin. " Jackson took Beverly's hand, the woman brushed it off. Beverly vomited her guts many times. Her breathing was getting irregular, cold sweat flooded Beverly's body. His legs started to wobble.

"POISON." HAWK'S FACE WAS GRIM AND DARK. HE CAREFULLY studied the tiny dart the aged healer had laid upon the cloth. "Callabron." The healer combed his fingers through his long white beard and lowered himself into a chair by Adri-enne's side. Hawk groaned. Callabron was not a gentle poison. A vicious and slow toxin, it would cause lingering pain for days before it ended in death by suffocation as the toxin slowly paralyzed the body from the outside in.

“It’s a potent elixir made by witches. And unlike all those other poisons like wolfsbane and arsenic, it doesn’t show up on a toxicology report. Only another witch can detect it.” We had a witch in our pack, and while she wasn’t the maker of these potions, I had asked her about poisons and if there was a way to get hold of some. Different hunting tools hung on the walls, and on one side was a wooden table which had a number of dried herbs and the most noticeable among them, raw and processed werewolf poison. He opened a drawer beneath the table and took out a pair of rubber gloves. Then he gathered vials of the processed liquid aconite and exited the shack. Walking in a straight line, when he was fifty meters away from the cabin, he started to pour the contents into the trees. Going in a circle, he emptied the contents of the vials, completing a fifty-meter circumference around the cabin.

As the group reconvened in the safety of the room, all eyes turned expectantly towards Rudra, the bearer of vital information that could shed light on the deadly poison that had claimed the innocent cat's life. Rudra, his expression grave yet determined, took a moment to gather his thoughts before speaking. "The poison that was used," Rudra began, his voice carrying a weight of knowledge and experience, "is derived from rare tree barks and bodies. It's a concoction so potent that it can extinguish life within seconds of consumption."

I crouched down and touched it with my finger. Pain shot through my fingertip like I'd touched acid. I jerked my hand back, bringing my finger to my mouth instinctively before the smell hit me. Bitter. Chemical. It burned my nostrils and made my eyes water. Wolfsbane. My blood went cold. Wolfsbane was poison to shifters. Not immediately deadly in small amounts, but it could cause burns, paralysis, organ failure if you got enough of it in your system. What was it doing spilled on the storage room floor?

Both of which are extremely toxic to wolves,” Dante explained. “Someone wanted you dead. Star was surprised by the accusation and pulled a small vial from her pocket. “You know what this is, don’t you?” The purple liquid glowed from the silver particles that floated in it. “Where did you get that?” It was a rare type of poison, only a few had the power to get their hands on it since it was the most lethal of all werewolf toxins. Made from a concoction of liquid silver, wolfsbane, and morphine, the drop of the mixture could kill a werewolf within seconds. Quick and painless. “Doesn’t matter, what matters is that I’d be willing to end your suffering if you answer a few questions for me.” Star shook the bottle in front of her.
