Kiana watches her, a small smile resting on her lips. There is something comforting about this. The movement. The voices. The certainty that everything is coming together. “Do you like it?” the Queen asks suddenly, turning back to her. Kiana blinks, then looks down at herself. At the fabric. At the details. At the care woven into every thread. “Yes,” she says softly. Then, with more certainty, “I love it.” The Queen’s expression softens. “Good,” she says. “It should be worthy of you.”

I am utterly in awe of the beautiful creature in front of me. “Our mate.” Rohan mutters dreamily. “Our queen.” I agree.

"She's turning him. Making him like her. And he told me something else—there's another key we need. A key only the witch knows about." All eyes turned to me. I took a deep breath. This was it. The moment of truth. "Yes," I admitted. "There is another key. And it's not a what." I met Sienna's eyes. "It's a who." "Who?" she asked. The ground suddenly rumbled beneath our feet. In the distance, Mount Blackthorn lit up with an eerie red glow. "The Queen is starting early," I whispered. "She's calling the Blood Moon."

The trees shriveled as a line of witches in blood-red cloaks moved in perfect formation. Their eyes glowed silver, their lips were painted in curse-ink, and at their center— Florence. The dark witch queen of the shattered coven. Her black hair coiled like smoke, her arms raised high above her head as she chanted in a tongue older than ruin. The sky answered her with fury.

“Den of which pack? Rank? Political position?” The question caught me completely off guard. I froze, my mind scrambling for words. “I—I —-” “She’s now Nora Blackwood,” Derek’s voice cut in smoothly, “The queen of the Lycan King. I think that’s what matters.” His gaze never left the queen mother’s face as he said it. She sipped her drink, the faintest smile tugging at her lips. Then she nodded slowly. “I guess she’s just some dirty rag that got cleaned up,” she said.

Her eyes shone with tears of joy, mirroring the intense, triumphant emotion radiating from him. Next, Queen Luna Adelaide Wolfe stepped forward. “This day, the strength of the Alpha King is doubled by the love of his Luna, and the realm is made whole. By the power invested in me, I crown you, Claire Clover, Luna Queen of Wolves. May you stand by your King and bring light and love to our people.” As the crown was placed on Claire’s head, the crowd erupted into cheers. Clayton took his Queen's hand, and together, they walked to the balcony overlooking the city.

“That didn’t take long.” I didn’t bother easing into it. “Do you know one?” Her expression shifted. Serious now. “No,” she said simply. I paused. “None at all?” She shook her head. “Not personally.” Something in my chest sank slightly. “But,” she added, leaning forward, “you’re not just anyone, Lila.” I frowned faintly. “What does that mean?” “It means you’re the queen of Blackwood,” she said. “If there’s anyone within these lands who practices that kind of… work—you’ll be able to find them.”

He removed my hood and placed the tiara from its box on my head. “I hereby declare Ava Withers to be the Queen Luna of Black Shadow Pack, governess of all packs within the Black Shadow Pack boundary, mate of King Leo Warrick, and protector of all.” It was a mouthful, but I wasn’t arguing. I stood, and the procession made its way onto the stage, one person at a time. They each kneeled and kissed my foot, then offered me blessings.
