ELDER'S BLOOD
The roll was violent, each step stealing breath and bleeding more life into him, and into me.
Blood poured from his wounds, dark and thick. He tried to curse me, tried to fight back with words, with claws, with everything he had. “This—this is one of the sacrifices you make for your pack,” I said, voice ragged, trembling from pain, fear, and adrenaline. “You never deserved that title.”
“You—” he snarled, blood foaming at his lips. “You—bitch—”
He couldn’t finish. I drove the knife into his head, hard, and the fight began to falter. Alpha strength, fury, and pride gave way to weakness, and at last, to silence.
