I was about to speak when my eyes caught the mark on her wrist that I held. Without thinking, I pulled her hand, inspecting the small symbol on her wrist. Fuck, it was identical to that woman's. I couldn't be mistaken. “What's wrong, Cirilla?” I couldn't tear my eyes away from the symbol. “What’s this?” I looked up at her, and her eyes were on me, observing me. “It's our family's ancestral rune. The Amnell clan of witches. Every witch from our family always has one. You'll get one too, right after your awakening,” She explained. “Now tell me what's the look on your face?”

The three sisters join hands and murmur an incantation. I watch in stunned silence as the runes begin to glow brightly underneath the thick layer of salt. Soon, the salt turns black, and the witches finally release their hands, and Petra wipes the salt from Willow's back. As she wipes the salt off of Willow, it takes the runes along with it. Willow's spine is clear of the symbols that were once there. “That is all it took?” I ask, astonished. The three witches nod their heads, and I feel pissed off. “Then why wasn't it done sooner?”

Removing them and keeping me alive at the same time is proving to be a challenge that they were not prepared for. “What is this symbol?” One of the council asks the High Witch. I try to look at the one that she is pointing to. It is an X with two L’s coming off of it on opposite sides. I know exactly what that rune symbolizes. “Eternal love,” the High Witch hisses through her teeth. “These runes may be tied to her mate.” “Tied how?” The first witch asks. “He may be the key to unlocking her powers.” Pinching the bridge of her nose the High Witch seems irritated with the rest of her coven.

It had been somewhat similar to what the witches are doing now I think. Is this the difference between the Primarch and other witches? The sheer complexity of what these light witches are doing makes me appreciate Eleanor and Emerlad’s raw power in a whole new way. As the hours pass, the witches continue their meticulous work. The magic circle grows larger and more complex, spreading across the ground in an intricate web of symbols and patterns. Some of the runes are as small as my palm, others stretch several feet across. They're all connected by flowing lines that seem to pulse with energy, creating one massive, unified design.

Looking at the image, the candle represented fire, the tin of water was pretty direct. The pots of plant represented soil, from which they grew with the bird clearly standing in for air. What I didn't understand was the ring of fire, what did it represent? A slight headache was beginning to form, my mind overworking to try and break the hidden meaning. Where was the written spell to go along with the depiction?
