At least not to me, maybe to others. "Wolves use howling to communicate with each other, and trust me when I say it gives you goosebumps." I nodded at Alastor, and just like we planned he started howling. It echoed off everything. It was a deep hollow sound. The females backed up their Alpha and howled with him, but you couldn't hear them over him. The group gasped in surprise and took plenty of photos and videos. I winked at Alastor, and it almost looked like he winked back. I'll have to write that down later.

If he’s noticed or not, he says nothing. “Right,” Jay agrees with another low hum in his throat. “Well, we have similarities to real wolves, but we are not like actual wolves at all. Real wolves, despite what humans once thought, do not have ranks like alpha, beta, omega… so forth. They’re just a mother and father breeding pair and their offspring. Werewolves, however, have those ranks,” he continues, his voice smooth and warm. I nod my head slowly. “And you are… the leader of the group, right?” I ask. After a moment’s pause, I then add, “the Alpha?”

he stated. “My track has traversed immense hardship, Emily… During my winter cycles at the higher academy, my internal wolf selected a female. My spirit anchored an absolute devotion to her form, her architecture was identical to your own. She moved like a lunar emanation… completely pure… completely benevolent… Every tier of the hierarchy respected her presence… Our lines were executing the preliminary treaties to finalize a permanent mating bond… But the environmental variables shifted with terminal velocity. An ice-gorge collapse extracted her life-force from the territory… My own system attempted to execute total self-liquidation following the event… My wolf refused to inhabit a landscap

Ayden added, as if to regain control of the conversation. “Hmm. So the rules help you navigate leadership.” “Exactly. I don’t need to figure out everything myself. The system is there. And I’ve got my Beta and other ranked members to support me.” “Okay, but why such obsessive emphasis on hierarchy?” I asked, just as a low growl rumbled from him. I squinted at him. Why the reaction? “It simplifies things. Wolves are hierarchical by nature. But we do love each other—we’re like one big family.”

As a result, Nicholas was forced to kneel on his right knees and leaned both his hands to the ground to support his left knees. He inhaled deeply, trying to calm the boiling blood in his popping nerves when someone beneath him was blazing in a fire. “There were times I felt that my past would forever mark me as an outsider. But now, I see that every wolf here has contributed to our resilience. Let us create a system that values each contribution—big or small, ancient or new.” A spirited discussion ensued as the council opened the floor for proposals. Some wolves advocated for a rotating leadership model, where responsibilities would shift among representatives from different factions, ensuring that no single viewpoint dominated the decision-making process. Others proposed a permanent council comprised of a diverse mix of elders, mid-ranking warriors, and young visionaries who would oversee major decisions and serve as a check on unilate

Lisa asked, looking at their retreating figures. “No one important,” Andrea replied, “come on, let's go. We have lunch reservations at Soho's. I hope you like Italian food.” Lisa didn't pry further. Because Andrea didn't seem keen on talking. After a few hours, her head was bursting with knowledge about werewolves. Something she had thought never existed. She had learned that wolves had some kind of hierarchy system. Alphas were the leaders based on skill and bloodlines. The rest of the pack obeyed him blindly.

Mary knew as she got closer to that damn state her wolf would become even more restless, it was home and her old family pack would be close. Bill had offered to come along but Mary knew this was dangerous even more so now that Tiffany had let her wolf free. Artemis had not fully made her way out when Mary had paid a witch to bind her daughter’s wolf and keep her hidden, hidden even from the child that shared the body and mind with. And the people that had killed her pack would know she was there as well and would be looking for her.

It didn't fall; it suspended itself in a Anti-Gravity Well at the center of the forest. "The Rules are simple," the White Wolf announced, his whistle glinting. "My Cyber-Pack vs. your Primal Six. If you can take the vial and bring it to the 'Physical Threshold' Rift, the boy lives. If we take it... the simulation is finalized, and you become the permanent prey of the White Wolf's private hunting ground." The Cyber-Wolves moved first. They didn't run; they Calculated. They moved in a "Swarm-Logic" pattern, their movements perfectly synchronized to cut off every exit.

He exhaled slowly. "Werewolf," he said. "We exist alongside humans in every city in the world. Hidden. Organised into packs with hierarchies and laws and politics that have been running for centuries." He held her gaze. "Grimwall has a pack presence. Has had one for decades. Humans never know." "How many," she said. "In Grimwall specifically. Twelve permanent members." He paused. "Plus me." "Plus you," she said. "Who leads them." "Alpha Drak," he said.
