The Silverwolf
In a blinding series of movements, Skye placed me on my feet, whirled around to catch the attacker by the throat, and slammed him down onto the surface of the bridge.
Then, something strange happened.
The wolf that Skye held began to tremble and appeared as if to whither. At the same time, a foreign energy flowed into my body from the Healer's firm hand that lingered on my elbow to steady me.
“Fuck.” Skye gasped and released the wolf like it had burned him, stumbling back a step to bump into my side.
I saw fear in the wolf's eyes as he shook uncontrollably on the log, staring up at Skye. His gray furred chest heaved but he seemed unable to stand. Skye in turn stared in shock and revulsion at
