A territorial urge welled up within my chest and the little hairs on the back of my neck rose as I got to my feet.
"Back off, Eve," Elias warned.
Xander sat back in his chair, folding his arms across his chest as a self-satisfied smirk spread across his lips.
But Eve never took her eyes from mine and then growled, low, barely audible.
Something inside of me welled up within my chest, and then I felt my eyes flare.
"There it is!" Eve smiled, pointing at me as a smile lit her lips. "Xander, did you see it?"
Xander nodded, looking into my eyes. "Sweetheart, you're part wolf. How big a part, I have no idea, but you have enough."
